Exactly. I don't think we're going to be using the word "shocking" for much of her newer performances anyway. Gaga needs to throw shock factor away. If she thrives on it too much she may end up dwindling her career faster than expected. You can only shock for so long. Her performances are fine just the way they are imo but I can see why someone would miss the "new artist" feel that she had back in 08-09.

Me too. I've loved the performances this era. It even comes down to her overall improvement in her vocals and dancing that have been amazing.

The Y&I VMA performance is so underrated. The part where she does the song is actually really good, I love the dancing + the mix they used

That performance is good, but it's a little overrated for me... And somehow you're right, Gaga must balance between the shock factor and the normal performances.. So that peoples won't be bored, and AT THE SAME TIME they won't complain..
