She's no really that popular, she hasn't been as successful as she has often been made out to be. I really like her early on during X Factor 5, but when she lost her voice she never managed to come back to the same standard. I've been very disappointed with her solo material, very underwhelming.

The first British to concur with my sentiments about her.
She's a love or hate kind of artist, if you don't get it now you never will I love her but I get why other people wouldn't.
As petty as it sounds and as far as I'm concerned, it was much more of my eerie view of the synchronization of her voice to her face. It just doesn't match. Same things can be said with Marina, Ellie and Pixie but her audible/visual traits domineers over them.
She had a sore throat during week 5 (maybe week 6) of the competition so she lost her voice and could not sing, they allowed her a free pass that week. When she came back she was never quite as good, she was the favourite to win early on but ended up finishing fourth.

I think for a few weeks after losing her voice she didn't do well but in the week that she redeemed herself and got back on the ball the was voted off
I love her but I get why other people wouldn't.
