but the question asks who has the most impact?!!!! Not who has impact and who doesn't! We never said she didn't have impact. We. Said. She. Doesn't. Have. The. Most. Impact.

|
Pointing out the hypocrisy, all this hype for LEGEND but nobody is trying other artists that admitted they are influenced by her or they sold the same amount as her.
Also her lovely discredit-ers that rush every thread with her name to shade her like you

You are more bothered that Aaliyah is on here more than Brandy not being mentioned at all.
& the shade is that same woman in your avatar is a bigger Aaliyah stan than she is Brandy. So whats your point?
|
Honey, the woman in my avatar is a man. That's a boy, Damon. A professional athlete, a wrestler. Please, go cool off a bit. Y'all are so mad.

It's not downplaying her, it's called not giving her more than she deserves. She had impact in the sense that she was a young black female being successful in music and film. Beyond that, there is nothing else there. And again, nowhere in this thread did anyone say she didn't have any impact. You're assuming that. When you assume ish, you make an ass out of you.
You. Don't. Get. It.

I rarely talk about her. This will probably be one of the three times I do this year. Oh dear.

This makes no sense, seeing as how:
a) my original posts on here talk about Whitney, Janet and Donna
b) My first mention of Aaliyah was in a reply to one of YOUR comments. Yikes.

Sis, Janet also collaborated with Khia, and willingly so. Stop using that stale receipt as if it holds some weight.

You know damn well Janet never spoke on Khia the way she spoke about Aaliyah, especially when Janet "allegedly" played khia and they are supposedly beefing now. You tried the hell out of that one.

The point is legends don't collab with EVERYTHING under the sun, especially SHAMELESS copycats/puppets so for her to remain the only mini Janet to do it is a feat.

She wishes.
And if that who you thought you were talking about, you can go right ahead and just dismiss her from the conversation. Is it really that big of a deal, to you, that I think others have had more impact than Aaliyah?

She said she loved Khia's music and that when Jermaine Dupri brought up the idea, she was down. That's little variance from what she said about wanting to work with Aaliyah. And Janet doesn't beef with artists.

Stop being jealous of Khia just because she got to collaborate with Janet and Aaliyah didn't. It's not very becoming. And who called her a copycat/puupet? Stop putting words in people's mouths.

Not collaborating with everything under the sun is not exclusive to legendary artists.

Aaliyah actually collaborated with Janet? Really? What's the name of the song?

She was a young black female with the help of Missy/Timbaland who only was in the industry SEVEN YEARS and TOOK A FIVE YEAR break that had influence and impact on music, fashion and style which isn't bad considering she didn't have to sell 200M albums to do so.
And the people rushing in to say "why is Aaliyah even in the poll?" beg to differ but I guess. You'll. Never. Get. It.

Thats not the same picture i see. I see Beyonce in your avi.
Its a big deal to you. You came in here two pages ago crying about Brandy not being listed but Aaliyah was, THEN you posted again crying about the same topic pages later. Aaliyah being impactful bothers you that much? 😂😂

You think your cute don't ya?
Aaliyah met Janet at her MTV ICON tribute despite not hitting the stage like her good sis Mya, Janet wanted a collab due to their schedules they able to do it since Li was busy. Then I'm pretty sure we all know what happend in 2001.
Li remains the only mini Janet, Janet openly wanted to collab with but probably regrets she never got the chance.

The only people in here "crying and disturbed is you and your flock. It matters enough to you what I think and say, and I don't understand why. Why does my saying that Brandy and MJB deserve to be in the poll with or more than Aaliyah bother you?
And why would or should her impact bother me? You clearly know who my fave is.

Musically, that was Missy and Timbaland's impact, not hers. She didn't create the music nor did she sing it in a way in which others followed her singing style. So that eliminates that one. Aaliyah dressing like a tomboy was not only the culture at the time, but other female artists did it first namely, Janet, TLC and Mary J. Blige. All she did was take what already existed and put her own on it. Once again, there is nothing wrong with that. But that puts her "impact" on a smaller scale than that of the others. Which is what we said pages ago.
You. Still. Don't. Get. It.
