That utter ********. Especially when Hollywood specifically shoots extra scenes in each blockbuster to accommodate the Asian audiences that are fast becoming the biggest market in the world for movie consumption.
It's also ******** because it's statistically proved that films that feature a diverse leading cast do better commercially and critically.
Also bull because over the past 5 years blockbuster films embroiled in whitewashing controversies have been critical and commercial failures.
It's also ******** because that 'truth' you're trying to spill is actually you trying to justify something that you don't think applies to you and so feel defensive over being called out.
It's only this way because 'it's always been'. People screaming 'SJW nonsense' are the fools that don't realise that this critical commentary is the only thing that's changing the narrative that minorities have to settle for less. It's the only reason that there's an influx of diverse minority experiences on television.
You can spout all this 'it's how it is' nonsense but let me tell you this as a person with two film degrees. People said the same thing about isolating black people in films to edit them out for southern screenings in the 1950s. They said the same thing about actresses on film. The same thing on naturalistic acting and dramas arguing that people don't want to see real life stories. And then did it again with animated characters saying that people don't want to sit there and watch something that doesn't look like them.
