What kind of personal gain is there to get from insulting her?

A "MY DAD DIED HOW DARE SHE!!!!" reaction is strange when a respectful adult would respond differently.

Maybe "I didn't particularly like the tribute, but I appreciate the love she has for my father and the time and effort she put into the performance," would be more understandable to me.

Insulting it the way he did (which was by only, literally posting the Google definition of "gaga") was screaming for headlines, attention and retweets.

I'm sure the Intel plugging was an irreversible part of their contract formed prior to the Bowie change.

She either could have avoided the tribute altogether, or performed a dazzling and respectful tribute knowing
she'd get backlash (from people who prob would have hated it anyways). I'm glad she did the latter.

He had no reason to thank her, but I do think it was kind of nasty to publicly embarrass her like that. There was nothing disrespectful about her tribute, so it was unjustified. It's one thing to have an unfavorable opinion and another to hold contempt against the person.

It's whatever, though. He lost his father less than a month ago, so he should be left to mourn in peace.

You either loved it or hated it, there's no in between, exactly as how Bowie would have wanted it. He was a polarizing figure during his time and a legacy like that is not easy to tribute. I was happy with it as both a Gaga and Bowie fan.
