If It Ain't Love is incredible, but she didn't write a damn word on it. Nothing wrong with that, just worth noting. She is a great songwriter though. She just only wrote on songs on the second half of the album I think.

Surprised Pitchfork liked it so much tbh. I love it, but it just doesn't seem like the type of album they eat up. Although it looks like they've restructured heavily and score differently now. Their reviews are much less in depth than they used to be.

) but i also feel like they're kinder to R&B artists sometimes considering it can be a hard genre to experience profound success in (in 2016 at least) i do agree tho that since they were aquired by that publishing company or whatever they just...... aren't really the tea like at all anymore. there reviews used to be really well researched and now they're all surface layer
