Jeibert's Best of 2009 | Top 30 ALBUMS (15-11) **NOW UP!**

29. Kris Allen - Kris Allen
28. Justin Bieber - My World
27. BoA - BoA
26. Kristinia DeBarge - Exposed
25. Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment
24. Chris Brown - Graffiti
23. Keri Hilson - In a Perfect Wold...
22. Colbie Caillat - Breakthrough

20. Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown
19. Allison Iraheta - Just Like You
18. Cheryl Cole - 3 Words
17. Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You
16. Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3
 | 15. Ciara - Fantasy Ride
Genre: R&B, pop, hip hop
Label: LaFace
Producers: Ciara (exec.), Mark Pitts (co-exec.), Blac Elvis, Benny Blanco, Blade, Jasper Cameron, The Clutch, Darkchild, Danja, Dr. Luke, Jason Nevins, Jim Beanz, Los da Maestro, Ne-Yo, Osinachi Nwaneri, Polow da Don, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, The Y's
Ciara maybe had the one of the most anticipated comebacks this year!. ATRL had so many stans of her worshiping the coming of "Fantasy Ride". Though the result, may be a big disappointment in sales, Ciara never fails to bring such a powerful album. My personal favorite would be the fierce "Work". "Turntables" with Chris Brown is such a highlight, while "Love Sex Magic" brought this up to success with Justin Timberlake. Considering all the hype, I believe this record should have been more successful.
Favorite Tracks: Love Sex Magic, Turntables, Work, Pucker Up, Tell Me What Your Name Is |
 | 14. Leona - Lewis
Genre: Pop, R&B, pop rock
Label: Syco / J
Producers: Simon Cowell (executive), Clive Davis (executive), Jeff Bhasker, Arnthor Birgisson, Julian Bunetta, Andrew Frampton, Kristian Lundin, Uriel Kadouch, Max Martin, Harvey Mason, Jr., Steve Robson, Kevin Rudolf, John Shanks, Shellback, Ryan Tedder, The Y's
Just like artists on their way for their second album, Leona was pressured to deliver a worthy follow-up. At first, I consider it as a major step down, yet I realized that somehow it is worthy of listen and is a grower. "I Got You" is my favorite track because of its lush music to support wonderful lyrics. "Outta My Head" is Leona's most upbeat record, yet most of the ballads like "My Hands" "Broken" & "Alive" are standouts. The record is different from her previous "Spirit", and I wished it can live up if not, near as its success.
Favorite Tracks: I Got You, Outta My Head, Happy, My Hands, Broken |
 | 13. Whitney Houston - I Look to You
Genre: R&B, dance-pop, soul
Label: Arista
Producers: Clive Davis (exec.), Whitney Houston (co-exec), Larry Jackson (co-exec), Alicia Keys, Akon, Danja, David Foster, Emanuel Kiriakou, Eric Hudson, Fernando Garibay, Harvey Mason, Jr., R. Kelly, Stargate, Swizz Beatz
Personally, I was very much anticipated with her comeback! Whitney never disappoints! I love how this record turn out to, it's not aiming for today's standards, yet simply it redefines what Whitney is and what she is known for. "Million Dollar Bill" was a very great debut song for her, it's just classy and not over the top. Yet her voice may not be as good as it is, she delivers impressive ballads such as the title-track and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength". With all these efforts, Whitney really came back for a good cause.
Favorite Tracks: Million Dollar Bill, Nothin' But Love, Call You Tonight, I Look to You, For the Lovers |
 | 12. Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted
Genre: Pop, pop rock, soft rock
Label: RCA
Producer: Kelly Clarkson, Ryan Tedder, Howard Benson, Max Martin, Lukasz Gottwald, Dre & Vidal, Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello
Okay, when "My Life Would Suck Without You" was on, I wasn't lived up to the hype. Yet it was still Kelly Clarkson, so I listened to the album, and find it just okay. Honestly, I lack a few spins on this album to appreciate, but "Cry" and "Already Gone" are amazing masterpieces. Of course, there are songs like "I Do Not Hook Up" and "Don't Let Me Stop You" which are typical for Kelly but it was "If I Can't Have You" has a distinct sound. Overall, I think it was an impressive effort brought by the always amazing Ms. Clarkson!
Favorite Tracks: My Life Would Suck Without You, I Do Not Hook Up, Cry, Don't Let Me Stop You, Already Gone |
 | 11. Shakira - She Wolf
Genre: R&B, dance pop, electro-pop, world, latin pop
Label: Epic
Producers: Shakira (Executive), Amanda Ghost (Co-exec), Lukas Burton, Future Cut, Jerry Duplessis, John Hill, Wyclef Jean, The Neptunes, Timbaland
Shakira delivered an "out-of-this-world" record this year!. From the title itself, we know that it is daring, fresh, fierce & sexy. With the title-track, "Did It Again", & "Men In This Town" features probably the most futuristic tracks ever of her. Although, I think this album lacks the raw feel that Shakira's known for, we can have "Gypsy" to reminisce. "Mon Amour" brings us to the rockish roots of her. The Spanish versions are also equally amazing and with this language, Shakira reaches out to her native fans. I must say, one of this year's best produced albums!
Favorite Tracks: She Wolf, Did It Again, Gypsy, Why Wait, Men in This Town |
