Fantasy Ride
Ciara

Standout Tracks:
1. Love Sex Magic
2. Turntables
3. I Don't Remember
4. Pucker Up
5. Work

This album showed Ciara at her best but still not good enough to match the other female artists who are doing really well in the business. In a world where we are filled of awesome female performers, Ciara needs to step up - but this album is almost a let down. The production is modern and innovative but the big issue here is that Ciara, again, wasn't able to show up with her own personality. Most of the time while listening to the album, I feel like Ciara is a rip-off of Janet Jackson. The album is also full of desperation - desperation for hits. There are a few good tracks, which includes the hit single
Love Sex Magic - which is such a funky song and undoubtedly the best track. However, the album's strongest point are the dance driven beats. Aside from LSM,
Turntables,
Work and
Pucker Up save this album for being a let down. Furthermore, Ciara adds some great vocals for
I Don't Remember. This is Ciara's best track ever in terms on vocal quality. Ciara really took her listeners to a fantasy ride that hits the not-so-high highs and the lowest lows.

Fearless (The Platinum Edition)
Taylor Swift
Label: Big Machine
Genre: Country, Country Pop
Standout Tracks:
1. Forever and Always
2. Untouchable
3. Hey Stephen
4. Fearless
5. You're Not Sorry
|
First, I have to say that this is not your typical country album, and that made listen to country songs more often. Swift's writing efforts has that broad appeal that makes this album really good. Swift may not have that strong vocals similar to Carrie Underwood's, but the asset of this album is that too much personality on it. The album is jam-packed from the first song to the last. For some weird reasons I'm not really a fan of the first releases from the album,
Love Story,
White Horse and
You Belong With Me are good but too 'popish' for me. However, tracks like
Forever and Always and
Hey Stephen still has that massive pop appeal but are more scientifically engineered in terms of lyrics and music. Swift definitely sets the bar too high for this album. I'm so sure that activebeast will be so happy.

Graffiti
Chris Brown
Label: Jive
Genre: R&B, Pop
Standout Tracks:
1. Crawl
2. Movie
3. So Cold
4. I Need This
5. Chase Our Love
|
This album has a few bright points but is disappointing. Definitely, Chris Brown's music is more mature but is not attractive as it leads listeners on remembering that Rihanna incident. This made me feel that this album is not something that Brown wanted to do but he had to because of the controversy. The tracks are pretty nice but it revolves around one certain goal and that is to apologize and make people understand him. This album is not bad at all, but I feel like listening to his old efforts. However, once I heard the tracks from the deluxe edition bonus disc, the album soars and sounded better. Most of the tracks from the bonus disc are far better than the tracks from the standard edition, but the best track,
Crawl, came from the standard version. Furthermore, the best upbeat tracks are
Famous Girl and
Chase Our Love, which are miles better than the first single
I Can Transform Ya.
