Do you want a cookie or something?
It's telling that "your party" even has to say something like that.

It's beyond crazy at this point. Not even "spinning" just flat out do whatever it takes to win the election. Nothing to do with the issues at all.

This has been a GREAT day for Republicans! The people have spoke & they are fed up with Obama. This midterm election proves it.
We have total control of the House AND the Senate. We have the most seats in the House since World War II!!!
I am very grateful that the voters have chose to elect Republicans into office & now we can hope for a positive change!

There's a new type of Republican out there now.
They are more forward with social issues & support a lot of the same social issues Democrats do. Have you watched ANY of the election coverages?!?

Seeth a bit!
Obviously you haven't watched any of the election coverage I see. Many of the elected Republicans have similar views of social issues.
"War-mongering"... ... ...
I can't at that. Wasn't Obama warned not to take troops out of the middle east? (In case you forgot, yes, he was.) He still took troops out. And guess what? ISIS grew & he had to send troops back.
Please, educate yourself & listen to some of the Republicans voted in BY MAJORITY.
There's a new wave of Republicans. Pay attention before you're left behind.

This fallacy is completely inaccurate and really grinds my gears. The people on this website only further these stereotypes when they're too busy stanning over one of their pop girl faves than to actually learn the facts.

Sorry. The bolded made me think directly about Peter Griffen...nm

I get you. I mean at this rate for Libertarians things might be good at the government imposing different tax reliefs/more for a few years
----
I just have this thought that Congress over the next few years can be active, its just going to struggle to get things passed with the party divisions in Congress and the President. All I can hope is for some social related inquiries move through Congress and the President if anything over the next 2 years

No side is either right or wrong. There has to be a safety net and welfare system in place to protect those from Capitalism. Capitalism is a great way to move upwards in the world but there has to be reguations on it to be successful. Unregulated capitalism leads to the crash of the banks.
And lets not act like Businesses are perfect when the government itself had to bail out GM. NO is complaining about company welfare on the republican side which are still taking tax dollars and creating even more debt.
The main problem in this country is the fact people believe by paying less in the government you get more. But that is far from the case. Not when our schools are failing to provide the best education in the world. Not when we have ****** roads. Not when our own military personnel don't even feel secure or safe to focus on protecting America and is instead worrying about the government shutting down or that they pay will get cut and now their own family will suffer if they die in combat or that they won't be able to get the training they need. Not when kids are not being feed at schools because they can't afford lunch and thus leading a distractions from the future leaders of this country from receiving a top notch education necessary to succeed.
Business need to be regulated to protect the rights of the employees to prevent them from going on welfare. True tax Incentives for those who hire and keep their factories, companies etc based in the United States. Add additional incentives to help sponsor government projects in the realms of energy/education/etc. Actually get a standardized business tax rate which are sensible and efficient to fund the government while ensuring business owners will want to keep working in America. Instead tax the individuals. Thats why the late 40s and the entire 50s as a hope was an economically boom.
Business had low taxes while the rich were actually being taxed at a top rate of 90% with no loopholes or ways to get deductions. However the reason why those tax rates didn't hurt them as much was the fact as long as Rockfeller etc kept putting money into his employees and his company, the money came right back to him. Once that occurs where we tax the individuals, you will see a collective change where companies will hire more to mass more money to augment and fund the CEOs lifestyle without putting people on the streets and laying off to create mass bonus for top level executives.
Btw thats not Republican or Democratic thinking. Its called ****ing common sense.
PS: Republicans lets not act like you guys didn't do this exact same thing in 2010 where you guys made gains in the house and Senate just to lose them in the Presidental election during 2012 due to stupidity like trying to shut the government down. Politics is pendulum it swings back and forth.

I will be scolded but Democrats are completely ruining this country. I agree w/ Kyle and how the ATRLers and Democrats cling to these ridiculous social issues (gay marriage, marijuana, "war on women") when we should really be worrying about our damn health care and the economy and numerous other extremely important issues. Raising the minimum wage will be disastrous for our economy. Dems have the absolute wrong idea. The world is not all rainbows and lollipops like the Dems paint it. When North Korea or Russia want to nuke us or are going to invade our damn country and you guys still worry about your little gay marriage and marijuana issues, I will know that this country really is lost. Democrats, in 2016, please really understand who you are voting for. If you are of color, and the democrats target you, understand why they are really targeting you. Same with women. The Democrats only want your vote because you are a women/a person of color/a gay. Do you really think it's worth it to vote Democrat because of the "war on women" and they will get you pro choice or if you are gay and they promise you gay marriage? If you answer yes, you are completely lost. This country is more important than these social issues. We need to step up and take back our country.

TBH Republicans wouldn't really do anything either. The young ones would actually attempt to change things, but the older ones are so focused on banning same-sex marriage and abortion At this point, they should really just drop the gay marriage debate.
Regardless, hopefully whatever president we get in 2016 is better than Bush and Obama.

It's possible to address the economy without completely ignoring social justice, much less reversing social justice.

Republicans are so lucky the US has a 2 party system, and they are the only real alternative. The offered no incentives whatsoever to vote for them. Maybe Obama is doing a poor job, but what are their PLANS? Does anyone know? I'd love to hear them.

Hmm. How sincere are those claims though? Sounds like a strategy of covering exposed sore-spots to me. Which, hey. Whatever works for sheep! And even if they are progressive, they'd be pressured to go along with the rest of the GOP legislators. It'll just be more years of gridlock, and there won't be any change to come out of this. I have my reasons for being skeptical.
Besides which, the Republican senate candidate in my state is THE stereotypical Republican and that's what I've been exposed to as of late. And of course, he won because Georgia is a red state (which has slowly been turning more purple, by the way).
As for Obama taking troops out of the middle east... who put them there to begin with, exactly? Why was there a necessity for troops to be there? The simplest answer, of course, is "the Bush Administration sent them there for the security of the American people!" Sure. But... we now know we were there based on the premise of a massive lie. For oil. Not nuclear weapons. Oil.

Why does America have to concentrate on any one thing tho.
I mean this country would naturally have to deal with a number of different issues including both financial and social issues, and most likely those issues will be worked on somewhere throughout the government.
-----
WAIT what does these recent discussion have to do with the fact the Republicans have the majority lead in representation in both the House and the Senate
What has this thread become
