I will not be surprised if Australia wins tbh. It's always happens when some country returns or newly attends. Italy got the 2nd place when they returned and Serbia won with Molitva. I don't think both songs couldn't even got into the top 10 these days.
Taking into account numerous requests of the Armenian diaspora, five musicians from Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Australia, all of Armenian origin, will be part of the band Genealogy. The idea is to unite a new generation of Armenians on stage whose families once spread all over the world in the year 1915.
Not here for Australia direkt til Final, personally. Or "voting" in both semifinals. Let them in through Semi 1.
As for Armenia, considering the song "Don't Deny" is rumored to be about the Armenian Genocide, yeah it's all politic. Especially if Turkey is seriously considering a return next year (which I would be like, hey, why not let us in the final directly! We touch Europe!)
Really don't like the fact Australia's joining. I mean it's fun and all, but it's called the EUROVISION for a god damn reason.
Well we have Israel, the Caucas trio and Cyrpus which fudge the ends of Europe, Morocco has competed once, Lebanon was going to and we have had constant rumors of Qatar joining. But all exist within the EBU signal zone (it stops around the middle of Saudi Arabia if I recall) so they can work as participants.
Not like I'm in favor of Australia. No matter SBS' love affair. Unless it's Dannii.
