Since airplay is not really counted here in RP as much as in the US, its not being monitored by whoever agency or person. What happens here is that some stations just illegally download their copies from the internet. A lot of songs get to leak as upcoming singles and are sometimes switched. As a result, even if its not an official single, the song manages to chart since it was already included in the station's playlist and people were already voting for it.
I remember Circus being played by Magic just a couple of hours after it leaked. MaxFM plays the tagged version of Touch My Hand. And of course, who could ever forget how Always Be My Baby became the anthem of 2008.
Crush peaked at #11 on US airplay I believe. I think this is pretty good for a new artist. It could have gone higher if the stations added it around the same time.
