I don't understand. You've been supporting the game and arguing for it the past three pages. Are you just playing devils advocate? Anyways. I'm never buying a Sims game ever again, not after this and SimCity. Clearly EA thinks it is okay to release broken and unfinished games and I won't take a part in that.
I'm really not.
I hated toddlers. So need to worry about that.
Pools I can live without for now. I prefer Hot Tubs because of the social points they give. Sims in pools just swim around aimlessly, jump out then jump back in
& what I hated about the Sims 3 was how boring it got, because Sims took care of themselves in the open neighbourhood. The fact that it's more like The Sims 2 rather than 3 makes me excited.
And one of the things I hated about 3 was that the house looks like boxes and the graphics overall were kind of ordinary. They were better executed, but I wouldn't say they were overally better.
The Sims 4 is making everything seem less Sims 1 ish and finally making houses look like real houses etc.
You don't have to buy it. Do what most people do, and torrrent the base game and buy like a $15 Expansion pack and it won't tell the difference.

Great post!
No worries

But to completely invalidate your point, what did they take out from TS3 that was a vital, key, and essential point in TS2 &TS1? The point is, the game has retrogressed severely. Its a shame and since playing The Sims in 2000, I have never ever seen so many fans disappointed in ANY The SIms game. .
Yeah, I mean Hot Tubs. In Australia, we call them Spa's aha.
They took out actual residential lots and replaced them with rabbit holes. In the Sims 2 you could build cafe's, restaurants, a shopping centre if you wanted. In The Sims 3 all that was taken away.
They also took away the need to order groceries, and just stuff that was nice in general.
The Sims is about community lots & residential lots, and making them to what you want. The Sims 3 completely removed community lots and replaced them with Rabbit Holes.

And what are you even talking about with YA's in TS2 BS Beta? Here's an actual screencap of it before its release:
What's your source about this tea anyway?
No YA life stage to be seen...
It wasn't in the actual picture. People found the source codes within I think and the ability to export young adults. It's so long ago now I don't really remember.
But the first Sims 2 trailer prominently featured baby/toddler/teen/young adult/adult/elderly in the first trailer.
& then the Young Adults ended up not featuring in the base game, and was saved for the EP.

I believe there's still a BIG difference. Pools aren't just recreational/social activities, they're also landscaping features.
My Sims LIVED for pool parties. Nobody's checking for hot tub parties.
That is true, but with the Sims 3 there were barely any recreational activities (no spa's, pool tables, piano's etc) that were all major items from the first game. They saved them for later. So I'm not saying I'm happy, I'm just saying I don't understand why people suddenly hate the Sims 4 for not featuring everything, when The Sims 3 didn't either.
Sure the Sims 3 had open world, but they took away proper community lots to do that.
Now we still have mini neighbourhood's but we have our community lots back! & They have included Nightclubs, Museum's etc in the base game, So Sims have somewhere to go without disappearing into a half-assed graphic.

My MacBook from 2008 can take it. All it needs is a dual-core processor and the compatible video card.

To be fair, people were pissed about hottubs lol but I supported TS3 because it had groundbreaking new features. A lot of people used pools to help their sims athletics and it was the most iconic way to kill sims.
They also said there would be more community lots. Perhaps there's a community lot with a pool in it? That's like already built into the location (like the beach) but isn't accessible to build your own if that makes sense?
The community lots with the Pool's in the Sims 3 were almost useless cos your Sim never wanted to go there by free choice.

All you talked about in that massive post is how the houses look like houses and how the roads look like actual roads. I am not hopping on the Sims 4 train and paying 60$ for a half assed game.
If it had basic stuff like the in the previous games I wouldn't be so harsh on it.
But this is EA they are probably wetting themselves at the thought of adding damn newspapers and color wheels in a future expansion.
And my computer can run 3 at full speed no problem with expansions installed at high settings.
Get a better computer.
Is it actually going to have less features? Like, we get FULL SCALE community lots.
The Sims 3 had rabbit holes. We also get 'Downtown' Nightclubs in the base game. The Sims 3 didn't have that. There are also more ways to build your house, more ways to create your sim etc.
There's a difference between having different features than less. The Sims 4 has a lot of features the Sims 3 didn't have as well.

My computer can run 3 at full speed as well. But the majority of Sims users are children/teens.
GTA users are late teens/adults who have money. Sims fans don't which is why The Sims 3 was reduced to like $20 not long after it went on sale.

Give me a gameplay video, a SimGuru playing their sims family in a house, and I'll be more than pleased. No CAS showcase, no buy mode, no emotion trailer, just show me how the game runs. The interactions. If it's good enough, I will be satisfied. But since they have not shown us any of this and the game being due out in a few months, it is not unwarranted that I am extremely shady and questionable about it.
This is the only thing that does bug me in all honestly. The game is also coming out in like less than 3 months and we don't even have the System Requirements.
They said it would be less than The Sims 3, but The Sims Life Stories was supposed to be "for low end PC's that couldn't run the base game" but it required more specs than the base game It's like, I'm not keeping my hopes up.

GTA's audience are people with money. Sims fans are mostly children and young teens. They don't have 1k to throw away. And if you wanted The Sims 4 to run like GTA, it would take twice as much hardware, which most people wouldn't have. The Sims is a simulation, GTA is all pre-programmed.
I just had a dream that this game had freeways/highways connecting each hub world
It was such a good dream (that portion of the dream only lasted like 2 minutes though lmao)

I HOPE that for the Sims 4 we can finally have shopping centre's. Like full scale ones with heaps of Sims searching all the mini shops and cafe's etc.
I can live without toddlers (they are annoying and difficult to control) but pools? Seriously? How much space did pools take up? I would have rather have one career less or some **** rather than get rid of pools. It's ridiculous and makes the game a lot less realistic.
The fact that they forgot to mention they had planned The SIms 4 to be an online game, like Simcity, but it backfired on their asses. Due to that they had to scrap the game and start over, meaning a lot of time and money was lost and EA isn't going to extend the deadline nor pump more money on it and therefor wants to deliver us an unfinished game, that'll be updated with paid downloadable content and expansion packs (The Sims 4: Crazy Toddles and The Sims 4: Swimming Fun in the EA store now for €40,- a piece)
This is exactly whats going to happen, most people will just download it illegally anyway cause this does not look or sound like it is worth $60
