Rihanna's response was justified. Using sexuality in music is not new, it never has been new, it was always there. And TLC did it too, even if their image was not actually sexual by association, they still used sex. So their point was moot and Rihanna's response was valid in pointing that out.
I don't give an absolute damn if they mentioned Rihanna by name or not. What people fail to realise is that is actually IRRELEVANT. Rihanna is valid in responding anyway. So people can shut up about that.

The Navy isn't assuming anything because the news story specifically said her name and attached a clip of her "Where have you been video" If anyone needs to catch the blame its the news network. Rihanna was implicated in TLC's comment about selling sex (because she does) but Rih spoke for women everywhere when she pointed out their hypocrisy. Especially when TLC stans for Bey and even Bey is embracing nudity and sexuality in her work.

Not mentioning someones name doesn't meant you're not shading them. Its the very definition of shade and is what differentiates shading from dragging.
