NG Presents: Top 20 Albums of 2007 (Missed Out Albums)
These are the albums I have missed out in 2006 that I discovered and fell in love with in 2007.
Imogen Heap - Speak For Yourself
+ Best Tracks: The Moment I Said It, Loose Ends, Hide and Seek, Just For Now, Clear the Area +
- I have heard of this album in 2006, but I didn't like it enough until I listened to the whole album again in 2007. The best track on the album is hands down "The Moment I Said It", such a beautiful song. Imogen Heap is an amazing artist, and I cannot wait for her new album.
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
+ Best Tracks: Chicago, Decatur, Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Highland Illinois, Casimir Pulaski Day, Come On! Feel the Illinoise! +
- I really want to hit myself in the head for not listening to this album in 2006. The key track on "Illinois" is definitely "Chicago", which was featured in one of my favorite films of all time "Little Miss Sunshine". The lyrics to that song is so awesome,
"If I was crying in the van, with my friend. It was for freedom from myself and from the land." The album was ranked "Album of the Year" by Pitchfork, Amazon.com's editors, Entertainment Weekly’s Chris Willman, and The Los Angeles Times’ Richard Cromelin, among others.
MSTRKRFT (Master Kraft) - The Looks
+ Best Tracks: Work On You, Easy Love, Street Justice, Paris, The Looks +
- This is such an amazing electronic album. Opening an album with "Work On You", a catchy Daft-Punk inspiring track followed by "Easy Love", another great electronic single. Thanks to artists like Justice and Daft Punk, which led me to download "The Looks".
Flyleaf - Flyleaf
+ Best Tracks: Fully Alive, Cassie, I'm So Sick, All Around Me, Perfect +
- Yes, I was loving "I'm So Sick" back in 2005. However, I did not bother to listen to this album in whole until 2007. Many potential tracks on Flyleaf self-titled debut, such as "Fully Alive", "Cassie", "All Around Me", and of course "I'm So Sick". Just a great album all around.
More updates probably tonight.
