That's one of the reasons why I preferred language and why I chose to do it at A Level, it's not so over analytical like literature is

Exactly, seeing more in what an author wrote than they did is what English Literature is all about
I remember Language being fun at GCSE, I once made a video montage of all sexual videos they show during the daytime on TV and played it in front of my class for a Speaking & Listening module. No-one knew what to say and it was hilarious
