Do you mean you sing in the bass section of a choir?
You know that doesn't necessarily mean you are a bass, right? In fact, TRU bass voices are extremely rare. Most men in the bass sections of choirs are just baritones or tenors with solid lower ranges.
(I think) I'm a pretty high-set lyric baritone (three people told me I sound like a tenor), so if you can sing higher than me in chest voice, you are likely a tenor.
