It's like saying doing hard drugs is worse than alcohol, so drinking alcohol is ok.
Other than this, have fun. I'm interested to see how this "experiment" will turn out.

I don't think any drug more dangerous than alcohol should be legalized. Anything that is less dangerous is fine to me. Our society obviously copes with how bad alcohol is, why can't we deal with something less problematic? It seems logical to me.

To be fair those arguments are not meant to demonize alcohol, they are just meant to add perspective to the argument. Alcohol is a widely used and celebrated drug in our culture so it only makes sense to draw comparisons when discussing the legalization of pot.

Step it up, Wisconsin. Although I'm positive the messy old people here will go insane at the thought of Marijuana being available legally.

Weed has been legal in my country for years and it's amazing. The illegal sale of drugs on the streets has greatly diminished and mostly takes place in coffee shops now. There are no people being bothered by the drugs cuz the decriminalisation took it all off the street cuz there are certain places to use them now. People can get high in a coffeeshop now without anyone noticing. Perfect!

It's fine to make comparisons, but to say that weed should be legal because alcohol is legal, is a logical fallacy.

I don't care about weed and the fact that it's legalized (as in, it does not affect me personally), but it's an interesting social phenomenon, plus I discussed the logical fallacy I've been seeing/hearing a lot lately.

Definitely not a fan of pot and generally hate most smokers, but at leadt this will cut back on a very minor portion of the funds going to the Mexican Cartel.

Great
Nothing wrong with a little weed. Just treat it like alcohol.

This comment really caught my eye. You do realize that without logical fallacies, ATRL wouldn't exist, right?

Some of ya'll.. Weed should be legal because a person (at least in the US) should have every right to smoke it. The governent shouldn't be in everyone's business all the time restricting their civil liberties. Plus smoking weed does NOT cause harm directly to anyone but the user. Yes bad things can happen under the influence of weed but if it does than that person will have to pay the consequences. The argument for it to be legal because it gives tax revenue and its safer than alcohol are in my opinion invalid. In the end, people who want to smoke weed will get it regardless of whether its legal or not so why have an argument.
On another thing, the weed is so expensive I can't believe it. $50 for 3/4 of an ounce if you are a citizen of Colorado and $125 for the same amount if you are from out of state. There won't be a drug problem because people just cannot afford it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's still and illegal drug problem there.

People will just grow their own or share it with friends or even sell it on the down low like always, The price and tax is crazy so many people from here won't get it from there, I live here in Colorado .
Anyways here is a pic I took yesterday in LoDo of a shop and people in line
