For our first performance today, we have one of the biggest male artists of the year that produced non-stop hits and a sophomore album that smashed throughout 2013.
9. Maroon 5 Known for: 11 years of amazing music, Adam for The Voice + sex appeal Favorite song:She Will Be Loved Why they're here: Their album released in 2012, but their singles kept smashing on radio and iTunes. All their single choices were amazing and well-deserved (though Lucky Strike was snubbed for life. )
8. Fall Out Boy Known for: 9 years of amazing music, returning after 4 years away Favorite song:Thnks fr th Mmrs Why they're here: After leaving us for 4 years, they returned with a bang with possibly their best album yet, mixing all types of rock into one disc.
7. Imagine Dragons Known for: "It's Time", "Radioactive". Favorite song:Radioactive Why they're here: They slayed with their three singles and their album is fun, hopeful and inspiring.
6. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Known for: "Thrift Shop", "Can't Hold Us", fast rapping. Favorite song:Same Love (feat. Mary Lambert) Why he's here: They're an amazing duo and each does their role perfectly. All four of their singles are very solid and even if you're not a fan of Macklemore or rap in general, Lewis's beats should still get your toes tapping.
5. One Direction Known for: "What Makes You Beautiful", fangirls, good looks. Favorite song:Up All Night Why they're here: After a somewhat lackluster sophomore album, they brought back what we really loved about them in Midnight Memories, and even gave us a more mature sound that really worked for their benefit.
4. OneRepublic Known for: "Apologize", "Good Life", Ryan Tedder's works. Favorite song:Secrets Why they're here: They released their best album yet and finally reconnected with the GP again.
3. Panic! at the Disco Known for: "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies", long ass song titles. Favorite song:Casual Affair Why they're here: Released their best album yet with a slew of different sounds that were unique compared to their previous works.
2. Icona Pop Known for: "I Love It", crashing cars into bridges. Favorite song:I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) Why they're here: They're addicting, fun, energetic and an amazing duo. Their music slayed me instantly with their great voices that fit together so well and their beats that make you want to dance and party all night long.
1. Paramore Known for: "Misery Business", "The Only Exception", 8 years of flawlessness. Favorite song:You actually expect me to choose? Why they're here: After the flawless mix of pop and rock in their latest album, they completely slayed me and caused me to become a stan. After that, I finally listened to their other releases in full and finally realized what I was missing.
A quick memorial to one of my favorite bands, My Chemical Romance. Unfortunately, after a very long and successful run, they separated in March 2013. Thanks for all the great music.
10. The Scientist Episode: 04x04 "The Break Up" Sung by: Finchel, Brittanna, Klaine, Wemma Why it slays: This is so amazing because all of the couples just broke up and they all poured their emotions into this song.
09. Getting Married Today Episode: 04x14 "I Do" Sung by: Emma, Will, Mercedes Why it slays: Will & Mercedes were really great with their parts, but obviously the main attraction was Emma with her speedy and panicky verses. This went so well with the situation and especially her character.
08. This Is the New Year Episode: 04x12 "Naked" Sung by: New Directions Why it slays: Ugh, performances with the whole cast are so amazing. They all look so happy and joyous and it really shows in the song as well.
07. Some Nights Episode: 04x07 "Dynamic Duos" Sung by: New Directions Why it slays: (See #08)
06. Mamma Mia Episode: 04x16 "Guilty Pleasures" Sung by: New Directions, Rachel, Kurt, Santana Why it slays: Both sides did this song so well. I especially love how it's slowed down in the beginning.. plus, Blaine's hair looks so cute.
05. Mine Episode: 04x04 "The Break Up" Sung by: Santana Why it slays: Just absolutely heartbreaking.. especially how Santana just stares at Brittany throughout the whole damn performance. Ugh.
04. It's Time Episode: 04x01 "The New Rachel" Sung by: Blaine Why it slays: This is so great and on par with the original that I honestly can't decide which is better.
03. Creep Episode: 04x17 "Guilty Pleasures" Sung by: Rachel, Brody Why it slays: Perfect. Just absolutely stunning and perfect.
02. Oops!... I Did It Again Episode: 04x02 "Britney 2.0" Sung by: Rachel Why it slays:
01. Closer Episode: 04x16 "Feud" Sung by: New Directions Why it slays: Once again, a flawless group performance. This was an amazing end to the episode because the song is one of their best covers and it came right after that insane fight between Finn and Brody. Absolutely phenomenal.
No real issues with your bands and groups list (One Direction's not for me, but I understand why people would like them) other than Maroon 5. This past era absolutely SUCKED.
