Both the song and video 100% reminds me of Lana Del Rey, just far less
interesting or cohesive. It doesn't feel original, in the least. Nice effort, though.
There were no lines to read between, that's the problem. Just a bunch of different concepts and images thrown together.
She's rolling a blunt of diamonds
Shots of her with a bright light behind her
She's in a messy room looking angsty
She's running, "Oh look the Aurora lights!"
She's holding on to someone's arm, she lets go.
She's in the desert, with horses all around her.
She's in the middle of a chaotic protest for 1 second.
She's in the water looking up
Connect the dots for me.
Beautifully shot, but the director could have done more... or maybe it's a victim of wrong editing. I didn't say it was a bad video. I think it's better than most of her others for the visuals alone.
The cinematography is Magnificent but she couldve did more with the concept. The edit ruined it.
1. We needed to at least see some physical interaction w/ her and the man.
2. We needed more of the street war scene.
3. Less of the horse scenes. It would have been better if she was on the horse.
Besides thinking I was watching the trailer to some horse movie around the middle of the video, I liked it. She looked gorgeous and it was a cute enough video.
Okay video, kinda disappointed because I wanted to see Diamonds reaches #1 in the next 2 weeks. My last hope is in her SNL performance to push this song to the top.
