Does there need to be instruments? I can't play them that well.

Yes, you can sing to an instrumental. I'm sure you can use an instrument. Maybe just don't use one this round to be sure.

omg i recorded my voice over an instrumental.. i hope thats fine.. i'd play guitar but it sounds really bad in the recording, coz the recording device aint much good!
