After all the hate, is anyone surprised that Sufjan Stevens has the first track leaving? "Prairie Fire That Wanders About" is our first elimination out of 75 songs we've rated. This is not a pure instrumental track but it does feel more like an interlude than actual "song" we talk about in popular music. I actually do not mind this track at all, but I don't mind it leaving it first either.

Worst song in the whole rate. It actually hurt my ears, I was nice with my 4. Great start.

Prairie Fire - Oh spoke too soon. Well, it's a nice tune, a nice interlude feel to it.
Hombre - Pretty good, nice bop. But the bridge could get a little annoying. It's probably her weakest.

I didn't read that much into any of the stuff in this rate, especially M.I.A.'s songs; "Hombre" is a sort of a bop, so I gave it a good score.

Mr. Stevens gets another beating in today's elimination. I would disagree that Illinois, as a whole, is a boring experience, but this song indeed is. His barely melodic verses and nonsensical lyrics don't help each other. I was way too generous with my seven.

I gave Decatur a 7 too, it's pretty reminiscent of his earlier work, which is nice on an album like this
