We're finally ending Jdella's misery with the first track of the night. "Honey, I'm Home" was the sixth single from Come On Over and it's Shania's last US Country #1. The country album version of this song is really slow and laid-back and disgusting, but the up-tempo version is just a whole lotta fun. I think Shania is so good at capturing the working-class attitudes and the feeling we all get when the working day is over with this song. This song is the highest-ranked song to receive no 10s, so it's pretty impressive that it got to the Top 20!
I'm really sad about this elimination. Childhood memories, ya know? I always adored the racing theme of the song & the video (the video ***** so hard). The chorus is soaring; it's all-around such a strong song. "You Win My Love" was the fifth single from The Woman in Me and it peaked at #1 on the Country chart (obviously). The song was written solely by Mutt, which is unusual because they usually did all of their writing together. I think one of the reasons I've always hated "Shut Up and Drive" by Rihanna is because it's a cheap pop imitation of this song & video. Shania was always 12 years ahead of the game.
