That's true. But that performance I posted was very subtle. Christina sang in perfect pitch and didn't over do it like she usually does. She rivaled Nina Simone in that performance easily.

There are different components you should consider in vocal versatility. Beyonce has the capability to cross over into genres, but not to employ that genres technique. She turned that Sex on Fire cover into something completely different.. It wasn't really rock. It sounded like bluesy Broadway gospel singing to Jesus.

Beyonce doesn't sing rock music like someone of today would. She draws her inspiration for the music of the past. Prince, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and those of the older days would "oversing" as you call it.

Manipulating your voice is about using different shades and colors of your voice. The songs I listed show that Bey can in fact do that. Versatility is also about how you can adapt MUSICALLY. Which no one seems to be discussing here.

Also I don't even know why you were even bringing up Britney before and her "nasal register" . What Britney does is unhealthy and does not demonstrate vocal versatility.

Meh. You don't seem to understand. Beyonce signs different genres of music with the same technique.. Gaga sings different genres of music with completely different techniques.. Britney just does things with her voice Gaga nor Britney can't do. An example of this would be her being able to make her voice very thin and nasally. Who cares if it's unhealthy? She still changes the quality of her voice entirely.
