Anyone want to help me for my 3rd exam tomorrow? This question is on exponents and although I get almost every other problem, the ones that I don't get ALWAYS seem to be the ones the test has the most of
"The processing of raw sugar has a step called 'inversion' that changes the molecular structure. Once the process has begun, the rate of change of the amount of raw sugar is proportional to the amount of raw sugar remaining. If 1000kg of raw sugar reduces to 800kg of raw sugar during the first 10 hours, how much raw sugar will remain after another 14 hours?"
All I know is that the answer is 732.84 kg and you have to use the formula Amount = ab^t where:
a = initial amount
b = factor (1 (+) or 1 (-) the rate as a decimal)
t = time in the appropriate units.
I have no idea how to do this one, and it's bugging me
