Apparently a lot of people are taking this really seriously. This man has a hugely group of followers, all of whom have sold their houses and all of their belongings, as these things won't be required in heaven.

Earthquakes are a daily occurrence! Even in California, they get the occasional 2.5 tremor. Especially in the Ring of Fire, things will be quite active. Japan has been getting 8 quakes a day (on average), but these are due to the March 11th tremor.
We all know the world isn't going to end today. It's going to end in 2012.
