Then you see that review .
I've seen more thorough posts on D-listed
+I've never seen that happen on metacritic, so how common is it exactly?

The aftermath of Britney Spears’ 2007 freak-out and Blackout wound up with her ceding control of her personal and professional life to her father and producers, respectively, leaving her as no more than a figurehead of an enterprise. Of course, Brit Brit had essentially been the face of a carefully calibrated pop machine for years, but every element of that contraption hinged on her persona, the songs and the sound fitting her evolution. Starting with Blackout, Britney started to slip into the background on her own records, a progression that continued unabated on Circus and finds some kind of culmination on 2011’s Femme Fatale. Essentially a cleaner, classier remake of the gaudily dark Blackout, Femme Fatale is a producer’s paradise, each cut decked out with stretched vocals, glassy keyboards, and insistent beats, all coming together in hyperactive arrangements that shift every five seconds. Sonically, it has everything except hooks, either in the rhythm or the melody; it’s all surface style, driven by sound and given shape by hypersexual lyrics Britney sings listlessly. Her name and face are on the cover but she is not at the album’s center; she is nowhere to be found amidst the clamor created by Dr. Luke, will.i.am, Bloodshy, Shellback, and Max Martin; she’s a black hole of charisma sucking everything in. Britney dutifully steps through the paces, singing enough of the words so they can be tweaked in the computer, never quite investing anything with emotion, never getting in the way of the producers, who deliver a showcase somewhat less captivating than Blackout. Surely, there are moments, sometimes stretched over a full song, that are compelling, but even these can’t erase the feeling that Britney no longer has a real, tangible personality. She’s now a reliable brand selling high-class productions designed to last not one minute longer than their season of release.

Album: Britney Spears, Femme Fatale (Jive)
Reviewed by Simon Price
Sunday, 27 March 2011
The madder she gets, the more interesting she gets. That ought to be how it works.
Sadly, perhaps due to a last-ditch attempt by her label to get her back on track, Britney's latest has none of the head-shaving mentalism you'd hope for. Max Martin, Mr "Baby One More Time", has been roped in again along with scores of interchangeable Scandinavians to create an album of autotuned landfill chartpop which you will scour in vain for anything on a par with "Womanizer".

WTF? He didn't even mention any of the songs of the new album
I wonder if he even heard the full album

Straight and to the point. Not all reviews have to be 10 pages long. Maybe he thought the album didn't deserve a long write up.

Every source on Metacritic is credible so take that **** outta here
If they had given her 100's they would be the most credible news agencies in the world to you.

AMG gave her a good review. A 70. So that should help her score out a little bit. As to the reviews, there is obviously a negative bias against Britney that will be held against her in musical reviews, and one needs to understand that to understand that there are people who dislike her simply because of her accomplishments, and what she stands for. It's not an excuse it's just a fact.

Im not trolling. I like the album.
Its just funny how everyones tones have changed as the score has dropped.
If it was doing to opposite, you all would be going crazy saying "Critically Acclaimed" etc...
Oh and the score is now at 63.

About Top 40 also gave her a really good review. A 90 score. But that unfortunately won't count towards Metacritic.

The album will more likely be above 60 which indicates positive reviews so no need to worry.

If you look a few posts back, Duca was the one who brought that review to my attention. I was just replying to him.
