But don't forget this is not the studio version. There could also be plenty of beats we can't even hear. Like when born this way is played with headphones on your can hear the german techno influences etc. Her songs are a blend of many different time periods, music genres, and inspirations. And yes, there will usually be a sort of generic side to her music because they are all pop pieces of music. And pop is as generic as it gets.

Listen, no one is knocking Gaga's "influences." She can be inspired by the
1939 pseudo-folk or "reconstructive" bandurist, Zinoviy Shtokalko of the Ukraine
for all we care... the END RESULT has to sound fresh and intriguing. That was
not done with "Born This Way" or "Government Hooker" despite the "touches" of
what ever Gaga claims are in the song. That's the main point I want to get across.
You can't put something generic-sounding on the radio, and then expect the public
to analyze it any other way BUT generic, again, despite what influences are present. You
can't say "'Blow' is generic, but it was influenced by the great works of __________."
But Gaga gets to do just that? Get outta' hea'. No one is here for that nonsense.
And I disagree, pop music
can be generic, but isn't always so.
