"One month of hype," "no one knows it," "no measurable indication of popularity" and yet:
It managed to have equal web presence to one of the biggest hits of the year and it was sustained for the entire year. How could that happen if no one was seeking it out? Formation was never officially released, given away for free for months and still shot to the top 10 immediately once it was available just based almost exclusively on sales alone -- that's a measurable indication of popularity. You can shade the chart stats of a song that didn't have Spotify or YouTube support it all you'd like, but the fact remains that it's a high profile and well known song.

Lies! This is the actual chart:
Formation has half the presence work has and it's mainly because of the formation tour as you can see here:
Why do the Hive care so much? Dangerous Woman, Into You, and Side To Side were all more successful than Formation and none of them were included (media hype doesn't measure success by the way).
