It's Alicia fault. She released so many strange and too political songs. She released In Common in May and next songs like 3 months later. She didn't care about music, she cared more about The Voice. And the whole no-makeup thing, It's not a bad thing, but it isn't good either.
She should released PAwn It Away as first taste 3 months before album. 2 months before she should release Blened Family, then Illusion of Bliss should be performed at VMAs, be third single, music video on album release and forth single at AMAs.
But she don't care. she used to be huge in very different world, now people are greedy and need to feel that artist is there for them. she isn't. she don't care about her fans

Are you talking about pure sales? And by multiple, how do you define that? 2 weeks or more?

Alicia tho good grief. I really don't understand what happened with her fan base; it's not like she makes drastic changes in her sound/image or takes a ridiculous amount of time between albums. It's weird how she fell off so hard and suddenly.

She hasn't had a good Pop hit since 2007. Before that she was releasing classics left and right. It's a double blow of her music having dwindling crossover appeal and R&B losing its album selling power. She would do fine if she had a hit, and I mean something good, not Girl On Fire.
