#3 Joe Brooks
Constellation Me
 | “Constellation Me” is an easy listening masterpiece from Joe Brooks. There’s no evidence of inexperience from the debut album at all and it is a delight to listen to from start to finish. I highly recommend this album to all acoustic fans and it is definitely one of the best I’ve heard in a while. The album has amazing lyrics, beats and his pure voice.
Favorite Tracks:
1. World At Our Feet
2. Superman
3. Lead The Crowd
4. Apple |
#2 Alexz Johnson
Voodoo
 | I like Voodoo a lot. It's magical, it does take time to grow on you but that's what happens to all my favourite albums. I love where she was, where she is and where she's heading. Unstoppable Alexz. Voodoo captures an atmosphere and feeling I haven't heard in an album in a long time. The song order was designed to be listed to from start to finish. It is a very cohesive album and while the songs are really their own entities they're not so different from anything else they completely stick out. Everything works. She has her own unique sound which makes describing this album much harder to do. The southern influence in both the album's look, feel, and much of its music can be heard. It's not all jazz, or all pop, or all of any one style. Alexz is certainly talented enough to sing in any style which makes the look and feel to be specificallyAlexz. As a fan of her through many of her recent struggles and hearing all her material makes this album stand clearly to me as an Alexz Johnson album. It's not a pop album, or a bluesy album, she takes influences from everywhere and crafts a well thought out and executed album.
Favorite Tracks:
1. L.A. Made Me
2. Taker
3. Superstition
4. Boogie Love |
#1 Ellie Goulding
Bright Lights
 | Definitely the best album of 2010 by far! Such an phenomenal album. Ellie is left to harmonize with herself, and it is one of the album's more magical moments because of the sheer energy and beauty that it presents! It energizes you and makes you want to start the whole experience all over again, which is something that any great pop album should do. This album is surprisingly solid for a debut in this genre. The moments where Ellie shines are where her lyrics and music combine to form something that is entirely unique to herself. What brings the album down are the more formulaic moments that everybody knew were coming, but nobody really wanted. If anything though, Lights serves as an awesome introduction to a talented musician; one who deserves to be heard if only for the fact that she's infinitely more talented than the majority of her peers. If you're like me and find yourself developing an affinity for girly pop music, Ellie Gouldling may be an artist to check out. I recommend it. Well she is without a doubt the most unique and original artist that has ever come from the UK lately. Her ability to play drums and sing at the same time strikes me in awe. An extraordinary talent. I know she can also play keyboard too and the obvious guitar. But I think she does enough. I honestly wish we had more true, natural talent like Ellie here in the States, far too much crap, filler, and no substance that they call music. A fantastic performance, I must say Ellie's very cute, beautiful. Music with substance, a woman with talent, a amazing voice, and an incredible energy, stage presence. Should give some advice to the Americans here on how to make great music. This woman is a genius! She inspires me throughout my life degree and it just amazes me the things she can make.
Favorite Tracks:
1. Under The Sheets
2. Lights
3. This Love (Will Be Your Downfall)
4. Your Song |

So let's continue my Best Of 2010. Hope y'all liked my countdown so far. Let's proceed with the third and the last count... it is the Top 10 Movies of 2010, are you guys ready? Let's Check out the first 2 movies announced!
#10 Dog Pound
 | Review: Movies with that genre of arresting/prison, I merely worship and this had violence scenes overpowering and accosted very well the reality of a detention, the abusiveness suffered inside of there, and mostly the revolt that was the point that I thought more interesting, coz when the three youngs came into the prison they seemed to be calm and gentle, but with the time and the judicial things which they made didn't hold more and rebelled. I gotta say that was the highlight and more interesting of the all movie. The final scene was fantastic, we could see the fury of everyone there. |
#9 Black Swan
 | Review: I started watching this movie out of boredom, for a few minutes before sleep and I found myself shivering at 4 o'clock in the morning wondering what the heck happened... I knew Darren Aronofsky was good after watching "Requiem for a Dream" and "The Fountain" but I didn't expect this... Anyway if someone stole the whole show that was Natalie Portman... she delivers the performance of a lifetime. Forget "Star Wars", "V for Vendetta" and keep a bit of "Leon" and "Garden State"...You are not the best young actress at the moment but you are definitely on the top one! If Natalie doesn't deserve an Oscar for her portraying of Nina Sayers then nobody ever did. This movie takes the story of dual personalities to a whole new level of unknown, which is beautifully portrayed by Natalie Portman, taking her to a spot where the Oscar doesn't look like just a dream anymore. It's a touching story, based around a small group of characters, and that's a place where Aronofsky is at his best (i.e. Requiem for a dream). Also, it would be unfair to forget Vincent Cassel, who showed himself in a totally different manner creating a strong, patriarchal character. In the end, this work of art is worth every single dollar and minute you spend on it. It's a guaranteed classic! |
Next 2 movies coming out later!
