Mariah went all out on this track and achieved exactly what should with all greatest hits new material - deliver music that highlights the best parts of an artist's discography, personality and career and celebrates it. Infinity is an anthem of her undying, unmatched and undisputable success and doesn't stop being brilliant from beginning to end. It's fun, cheeky and doesn't take itself too seriously - which I adore. From the ascending string section opener into the infectious "ooh, ahh"s into the golden whistle note at the end, this song is such a complete, satiating piece of work from a pop mogul. I still live for it all the time and will continue to hold it in high regard among the rest of her single discography!

I am so pleased this single took off for Pia - at least in New Zealand and Australia (and the UK, I think?) because it is a major bop! Her vocals are smooth and creamy and give off all sorts of luxuriousness in the verses, before coming through hard and delivering a pop-tacular rendition of a well known reggae hook in the chorus. Like Justine Skye's 'Collide' from the previous set, the rapping and Chris Brown (lol) does not take away from this song's movement or flow, and instead adds a flavour that I would miss if it were not there. The bridge is also so good vocally - I love the builds in the melody line and piercing, shrill yell of "baeeeeeghby!". Pia gave Ariana some strong competition with this single this year but of course Focus comes out on top as we will soon see in the remainder of my countdown...

I think it was underrated and paid dust cuz it was just so typical Mariah that people didn't find it all that specil, but it's actually such a strong song.

I did not realize how much I lived for this song in 2015 until I saw the receipts Spotify gave me on my 'Year End Lists' - placing it as my most played song of the year. I don't recall playing it so many times probably because it would usually come on shuffle and I would NEVER skip it - NEVER. I have skipped the best of bops, multiple Xtina songs, but when this song starts up, there's no slowing it down or turning it off. The song is so fun and vanilla, all my inner white girls are summoned the second the generic af chorus breakdown kicks in. The strongest album track on 'Reflection'. The song ends Fifth Harmony's killer 7 appearances on my Top 100 songs countdown!

When I first played this song it was like 2am and I was on the toilet scrolling through ATRL. I'd never been a Carly fan and had little respect for her as an artist. This song at first was laughable and a poor attempt to replicate her success with "Call Me Maybe", but soon enough, I got HOOKED on this song like there were no other songs I could possibly play, and it began my venturing into the world of Carly Rae's amazing discography. I repent daily for doing Carly so wrong for so long, and listen to this song in loving memory of my lack of good taste afterwards - hoping to never make such a mitake again. "I Really Like You" is pure fire, uber flirty, an honest homage to the 80s and an all round crowd pleaser.

I was walking around town listening to my newly illegally downloaded copy of 'Jackie' one cold day in May, and left rather unmoved by most of the album. Of course, that changed for many of the tracks eventually (as you should be able to tell with the previous appearances of "Give Me Love", "Lullaby", "Kiss And Tell" & singles "I Bet" & "Dance Like We're Making Love"), but the thing that made "One Woman Army" stand out from the rest and places it at the top of Ciara's chart run on my countdown was that it was INSTANT. The second the booming homo fabulous synths come in, you are SOLD. The song is pure ear candy, and a rhythmic pop masterpiece that was robbed of a place on the standard edition. I nearly fell down the hill I was walking down when the chorus broke out... it was an epic moment that felt like the heavens opening up and raining over me with confetti and bright pink glitter. If you have paid this song dust till now, you MUST get onto checking it out!
