Britney had a bigger WW hit in 2013, and is currently on a sold out residency in Vegas while Xtina has been unable to tour since 2007 (no shade, it's true).
Their album sales are about equal now but that's with Britney not doing an ounce of promotion compared to Xtina's heavy promo, and this is her first flop era compared to Xtina's fourth in a row (Keeps Getting Better, Bionic, Burlesque, Lotus).
If Xtina stans can use her features to try to prove that she's bigger today then we can count Britney's too. Scream & Shout was bigger than anything Xtina has released with the exception of MLJ. Britney had a Top 3 smash and a moderate Top 15 hit in 2013. Britney Jean already outsold Lotus and she's currently on a SOLD OUT Vegas residency earning millions. Is Xtina ever leaving The Voice?
I have feeling that Xtina talent will help her to catch on and have more longevity, During the Femme Fatale era I would have said Britney. now it's Xtina. (I accidentally voted Brit tho )
Christina's next album will definitely be way more successful than Britney's.
Britney is not respected (anymore), I don't say she can't sing live, but many people 'assume' that she can't. Really don't know why people think that though, but those prejudices work against her.
Not being able to sing live doesn't work against you when you're young and fresh, but Britney has been around already 16 years. Young people who bought her album in 1998 are older now, and they have a different music taste. Those (casual) fans grew up.
Christina on the other hand is respected because of her great voice and iconic ballads (Beautiful, Hurts).
And she didn't make teen pop at her peak, but way more adult music than Britney. Young people who respected her in 2002, still respect her. If Christina comes up with a good album (BEYONCÉ for example), she could slay the younger and older people again.

britney & xtina both started out at the same time, yet x started flopping with bionic in 2010 and followed up with lotus, another flop in 2012. Britney didn't start flopping until BJ in 2013 and it's her first flop era..so brit has already had more longevity. I'm not counting their features because well..once you have to start resorting to those, you know you have lost.
