I think it's important to educate people on why things are disrespectful/offensive to other cultures and races. Brushing things under the rug won't lead to any kind of progression. That can be said for any type of discrimination. Racism won't go away b/c we stopped talking about it.

No matter how much we want racism to disappear, it won't ever happen.

Like I said, it's sad that a young kid had to experience this, but it took him a shorter time to learn the history of blackface or the gist of it at least. Too bad it took his parents years to accomplish that.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

The color of MLK's skin is insignificant in this whole thing, especially given that whole speech. He could have portrayed Martin without the face paint and gotten his point across well enough to get that A and not offend people.
