2. Anyone knows The Fame is easily her weakest album yet remains superior to any of Katy's. She has grown musically. ARTPOP explores other genres she hasn't tried before unlike others. The Fame had 4 massive singles and the hype around her was enormous so it's only right that it sold more. That's a pretty weak comparison. OOTB sucks so obviously PRISM is better.. no one used that album and the sales reflect that.
3. Cause why else would she write songs aimed at pre-teens and teens. I mean her second album was titled 'Teenage Dream' for the love of god. If you're writing songs with Dr. Luke and Max Martin that focus around the themes of romance and love then who exactly are you trying to appeal to besides the GP and what risks are you taking? None. Just because her label took her choice to release yet another song about love doesn't mean that they knew it would flop. They probably thought it'd do well just like the rest of your fanbase. Labels are always going to release the songs that appear to be potential smashes. For example, Dark Horse was released since it was doing exceptional as a promo single and DWUW did well on its release so it'd serve as the second single. Gaga's 'radio friendly' definition and ATRL's is clearly very different. It's evident on ARTPOP since most of the songs are super risky for radio, something I wouldn't expect you to know.
4. Gaga totalllllllllllly plays it safe. I mean she took a year out of the spotlight and came back with a single about living for the way people clap for her with verses including the lines 'One second I'm a koons then, suddenly the koons is me.'' I mean who can't relate to that right? You're doing too much. If it's that hard to accept that your fave can't take risks because she's clearly worried too much about her success and her label has her on a leash, that's your problem.

1. IKAG was very controversial for 2008.
3. Teenage Dream, the album, is more geared towards adults actually. The title itself even proves that - it's about going back and reliving your youth. Hence, "you make me feel like I'm livin' a teenage dream." Why would someone who's already a teen need to relive a teenage dream...?
Adults loving Katy also provides her with her secret weapon - Adult AC and Hot Adult AC radio, which give her songs and albums longevity (ie, Roar is currently in its sixth week of being #1 there).
I'm not even gonna get into her just singing about love and romance - she doesn't.
4. Applause was playing it safe. Her label made her choose it as a lead single because it was radio friendly.
