Accuse them of being ****s, talentless, Nicole and the rest of them, WHATEVER, but this song is the BEST piece of music these bimbos have yielded, and as far away from trite and brainless as I think they'll ever get. Yes "Stickwitu" was a plausible down-tempo number...but THIS **** RIGHT HERE?!?! From the plaintive keys, to the lyrics, to Nicole's powerful yet subdued vocals...this is theirs, forever and always; when the dust settles, and no one remembers their names anym...(
)...this will stand and stand alone as the best song they've done. Not my favorite (see a couple of updates from now
) but incontestably, the best.

I remember precisely when and where I was when this song and video premiered. The song? I was on my computer in March, downloaded it, was utterly disgusted, and forgot to delete it right then and there.
The video? A couple of days later, in March, I was face down on my bed, sacreligious and feeling cold and helpless after being rejected from yet another job opportunity...I tell you...I was just about to snuff it and just end it all that night...
which has nothing to do with the fact that a couple dozen times hearing it everywhere, I finally submitted myself to this damn catchy P.O.S., and it catapaulted Lil' Wayne from his position as rap M.V.P. to pop superstar and house hold name, helping him sell a million albums his first week alone.

The best two books I read this year....as well as the only two books I read this year!
2. The Definitive Guide to Stuff White People Like by Christian Lander
It's so unabashedly honest and true that it was responsible for some of my best
s of the year. A must read for darkies and those from the land of Caucasia!
1. Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
Someone late last year told me I'd appreciate Kafka and his literature, recommending this book to me in specific.
BOY, DID I!

A good couple of months from now, I'm probably going to regret putting this song on the list instead of the uber-awesome that was "Sexy Movimiento" (released late-2007) but, still, by and by, the "It Takes Two"-jacking beat with a nice thick coat of techno is irrestible and out of all 483579240 singles they released this year, this still takes the silver on their 2008 repetoire. You'll have to wait a bit for the gold though.
67.
You remember "Crazy"? Yeah.
They ain't got cha "Crazy"...AWWWWW.
This is better, believe it or not...and it's quite a shame that they'll forever be branded on their black asses with that stamp of "Crazy" seeing as this, and "Going On" were just as remarkable, if not more. :-/
Frantic, and frenetic and it just DEMANDS finger-snapping. DEMANDS it.

My #7 masterpiece of 2008 is....
7. Girl Talk, "Feed the Animals"
Released: June 19, 2008
Favorite Tracks: 1. "Like This" (peak: Metallica's "One" vs. Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss")
2. "Here's The Thing" (peak: Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl" vs. Nelly Furtado's "Maneater" vs. Three 6 Mafia's "I'd Rather" with dashes and hints of The Prodigy, Chris Brown and Veruca Salt)
3. "Give Me A Beat" (peak: SUPER TAG-TEAM 40 SECONDS FEATURING Timbo's "Give It To Me", Britney's "Gimme More" and Madge's "4 Minutes")
4. "Let Me See You" (peaks: Bizarre Inc.'s "I'm Gonna Get You" & R. Kelly's "I'm A Flirt" AND M.I.A.'s "Boyz" vs The Cranberries "Dreams")
5. "No Pause" (peaks: E-40 vs. Cheap Trick vs. Missy Elliott vs. Yael Naim vs. Beyonce)
I first discovered Greg Gillis, better known as mashup ARTIST (not DJ) through Blender Magazine, when they first reviewed his last effort, 2006's
Night Ripper. Intrigued, I went to the Virgin Megastore and found the lone copy of the album in the electronic section. It went on to become my 4th favorite album of that year, only behind stellar efforts from Muse, Nelly Furtado and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, respectively. Ironically enough, it was a thread on
THIS SITE of all places that informed me that his new album was being released, for free (Thanks Johnsta and/or Mazen
). A couple of clicks were made, and I was
blown away.
Mind you, this is nowhere near as cohesive and smooth-flowing as
Night Ripper was, but the peaks on the album DEFINITELY out-
those of said album. When all is said and done, I'm glad I hopped onto the Girl Talk bandwagon before all these scally-wags discovered him and put him in EVERY year end chart on their lists. Posers.

BEAT.
Unlike the aforementioned "Foundations" or "I Hate This Part", this somehow manages to sound the downtrodden and triumphant at the same time. Robyn is the modern female singer's archetype of versatility, reigning in hurt and making her voice malleable enough to not reek of desperation yet tweaking it just enough in a different song to sound like a party-starter. This, is her finest showcase, and you'd be a fool to resist such a gem.
65.
THE BEAT ON THIS SONG IS INCREDDDDIBLLLLEEEE OH MY ****KKKKKKK
/loon.
Never in a million years would I think the
pariguayos (lames /dorks) of reggaeton would be able to execute such ear-pleasing-****ery, but boyyyyy was I wrong. The instrumental on this song is one of the most colossal of the past twelve months, sounding like a nation-wide simultaneous malfunctioning of all the T-Mobile Sidekicks, raining down upon the listeners' ears over an already taunting-percussive beat. Holla Gwen Stefani:
this **** is BANANAS.
B.A.N.A.N.A.S.!

I was hooked on this song for a good week, like a ****ing parasite to a host. I wasn't really feeling any of the singles from Ten Thousand Fists, but this grabbed me by the balls, and KILLED IT SON SON! yeah, but that video is something else.
63.
It was a toss-up between this and the just-as-eligible-in-my-books (even if it wasn't a legit single) "Ditch That..." but at the end of the day, this song won. The beat is far from complex, the lyrics are about as common as cobwebs in Winehouse's ****, so what draws me to this song you ask?
SWAGGER. Never has a song about stealing another dude's girl so...complacent with being conniving. It inspired one of my favorite personal catchphrases of the year and yeah....
****!
THANIG6A!
Seven more songs DEFINITELY up by tonight, best movies, best TV shows and more WTF right around the corner!
