Why is this thread open lol and why are some of you so obsessed with comparing every little aspect of Bey and Rih's careers?

The true Icon of our generation, Rihanna, of course! The Lemonade girl has no classics, at least not outside the USA where she's only well-known musically.
And Hive using Destiny Child's songs to make their fave look superior!

it's a part of their legacies too, lol. like, kelly and Michelle had the best parts on some of their later songs

I guess you can't mention the Supreme's songs when talking about Diana's classics then?
DC is a big part of Beyoncé. Beyoncé was a big part of DC.
Also your opening sentence is not true.

Anyway, a classic song is kind of rare, and most people are really overdoing it with their lists (even people who are not doing it as a joke). Like even Madonna and MJ only have a few.
A classic song is one that stands the test of time, it sounds as lovely as it did when it was released, is widely known and also widely loved.
I'd say in their solo careers they are both equal.

Bey
Crazy in Love
Single Ladies
Halo
Rih
Umbrella
We Found Love
Diamonds
Those are the only songs I'd deem classics. Altogether, the 3 Rihanna songs definitely outweigh Bey's trio. Didn't put LTWYL there as it's a feature and both, especially Rih, have several contenders (DSTM, Stay, Irreplaceable, and so on), but they aren't quite up to the mark.

Rihanna may have more hits but Beyoncé definitely has more classics and more memorable songs.

Without DC, they are about even. With DC, definitely Bey.
While Rih has a lot of hits, due to her always releasing new material most of her songs do not get a chance to become classics.
Bey:
Crazy in love
Irreplaceable
Halo
Single Ladies
Run The World
Drunk In Love
Contenders:
Baby Boy
Flawless
Telephone
Formation
Love On Top
RiRi:
Umbrella
Only Girl
Don't Stop the Music
We Found Love
Diamonds
Work
Contenders:
Pon de Replay
Rude Boy

Beyoncé: Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, Irreplaceable, Listen, Single Ladies, If I Were A Boy, Halo, Run The World, Love On Top, Drunk In Love, ***Flawless
Rihanna: Umbrella, Stay, We Found Love, Diamonds.
Rih ha music is forgotten yet she has more "hits". Listen is more remembered than Disturbia, Hard, Russian Roulette although it didn't go top 10 except the UK

Not sure if you're playing dumb or just don't remember. From the moment DC broke out, everyone knew "Beyonce" as the star of the group. She was always a standalone artist (and did solo features, appearances, TV shows, musicals) long before the DIL era.
