I can't believe people are stupid enough to compare Lady GaGa's album sales to those of Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne. Album sales aren't the same way they were in 1996 or 2002. Had Lady GaGa been successful during any one of those years, her album sales would probably be anywhere around from 7 to 10 million.

I didn't say she should have sold 10 million records. I'm obviously figuring in the downward decline of sales.

Just saying that 1.5 million isn't very impressive based on her hype and track record. Like I said, if you compare her to someone like Fergie (which I think is fair), she sold 4 million in the US alone. No re-release required (and Fergie didn't get 4 #1's and break a whole bunch of records, either). I feel like GaGa's sales should be around that, for as much as she's being *****d out on the radio.

Oh my God. I didn't compare the ACTUAL SALES. I don't expect GaGa to sell 10 million albums. I just expect it to sell well considering it's 2009. 1.5 million isn't very impressive, point blank. Look at the record she just broke, you'd think she'd be breaching the 5 million mark by this point.
