Because in this case how can you determine if something is too inappropriate for the industry if you're just isolating it. Rihanna is not some pop star on a lonely island. There are many others doing the same stuff.
When other artists are compared ya'll take it too personally. Like...chill out. You like Beyonce. Some people like Rihanna. etc. The whole this just gets taken out of context and it gets too dramatic.
Right. That explains this mess of a thread. You dont have to compare Rihanna with other artists to see if she takes it too far sometimes.... Common sense should tell U that.
WHAT THE HELL does talent have to do with being sexually provacative??? do you think when people see Gaga walking the streets with barely nothing on there thinking 'good lord that bitch is so ****in talented' or 'you know what she's wearing next to nothing but its coo ima let that slide cause her she makes good music'?? NO there thinking SEX! That's really all there is to is when you're being sexually provacative you will be seen as an object of sexuality. Im jus sayin
At people thinking Gaga's sexy because she dresses sexy. Sure, she may be. But let's face it. Gaga isn't topping 'hottest celebs under 30' lists anytime soon. Gaga is far more respected in the industry than Rihanna. From awards to critical acclaim. Gaga's dressing of sexy clothing is not a clutch. Rihanna's is.

How else can you tell if she's pushing the boundaries if you can't first establish what are the bondaries? Unless she was up there ****in or literally getting naked (which are things that have yet to be done before) she isn't breaking new ground and therefore she's still in the same company as the other pop girls. So when some asks if Rihanna is 'taking it too far' you HAVE to discuss what is part of the norm for current pop stars.

Hunny I didn't say Gaga was sexy. I said she's an object of sexually meaning she uses sex and provacativeness as a part of her image. Saying Gaga isn't a sexual artist because people don't see her as 'sexy' is like saying it wasn't sex because it wasn't good even though you had sexual intercourse with someone. Just because some may think she misses the mark doesn't mean she isn't trying

Basically as I already stated it's common sense. I still dont understand why U have to bring up other artists to try and justify ur opinion.
Rihanna has always been provocative. They must have not seen her in Pon De Replay or SOS. Her outfits and look are pretty tame compared to what we've seen through the years.
People will remain pressed @ sexuality until that changes. So that's the reason they're blowing this out of proportion.
