This song/video is far too deep, complex and obscure for most people to appreciate. While I myself am not the biggest fan of the track, I can appreciate that it comes from a place of vulnerability. Lady Gaga deserves a lot of respect for raising awareness for something like this. So many people are affected — more than you might think. Kudos to her.

Not because it's a song+video with a "message" it has to be perfect itself.

It's a song about rape, with a video depicting rape, and is featured in a documentary about sexual assault/rape on campuses.... in order to raise awareness? It isn't a particularly difficult concept for to wrap your head around.
