Roy's Freakin Sweet 20 Albums (2-1)+Freakin' Movies (21-19)
Freakin Sweet 20 Albums of 2010 (2-1)
I'm ready for those "He released an album? " or ""
2. B.o.B - B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray
And the Best New Artist and Best Hiphop Album goes to...B.o.B! While I was waiting for the ALBUM OF THE YEAR, B.o.B showed up from nowhere and gave me one of the best songs of all time, Nothin' On You with Half Filipino-Half American great vocalist Bruno Mars. Obviously, this great song could easily be a hit and be overrated but still awesome. I thought that that is B.o.B's best effort and it will not be follow but I was very wrong when "Airplanes" featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore leaked. Who would have thought that a rock girl will meet hiphop newbie. I hooked up the song in months! The chorus hit people who want their wishes to come true and B.o.B tells what if he didn't became a famous rapper. His buzz single "Don't Let Me Fall" shows that he can still create great songs without any features. "Magic" featuring Weezer's Rivers Cuomo is a fun song and again, just like Airplanes, a rock guy makes the song more clever. "The Kids" with Jannele Monae shows that B.o.B can also sing and rap a calm song with a message that needs to be spread worldwide. "Bet i featuring unknown and T.I is a perfect hiphop banger and Ghost in The Machine is a creepy but it shows that B.o.B can sing a song with rap verses. Is he the next Eminem? Kanye? or he is just going to be himself? I really hope in future, music industry can bring another excellent artist.
You'll love this if: you love hiphop and rap. Its really impossible to hate this guy unless you hate this genre with all of your heart.
Special Highlights:Airplanes (feat. Hayley Williams), Airplanes Pt. II (feat. Hayley Williams and Eminem), Magic (feat. Rivers Cuomo), The Kids (feat. Jannele Monae), Don't Let Me Fall
1. David Archuleta - The Other Side of Down
Since this is my thread, I demand no hatred will occur on my Album of The Year. The Underrated Album of the Year goes to...David Archuleta! This year, Archuleta released stronger, better, and more mature album, The Other Side of Down which features his amazing songwriting skills, and improved tunes. After 2 years of waiting, he finally gave me an album that should have been released first instead of his debut album. The first single, "Something 'Bout Love" is not really something that will attract new fans. The song has something that only fans can appreciate it so I think its a bad move to release this song. The second single, "Elevator" kinda disappoint the fans but it eventually grows even you keep listening to it. Good thing that the album is not like those two singles. "Falling Star" is a ballad that unlocks Archuleta's perfect God-send voice especially when he hit the high notes that your fave male artists could never ever. "Stomping The Roses" is a fun pop song that screams hit and should have been released as the first single. I already imagined the song to hit #1 if it is released instead of SBL. "Parachutes and Airplanes", his best song ever, also shows Archuleta's creative songwriting skills and his, did I already told you, perfect God-send voice especially when he hit the notes. I already know that it will be TOSOD's best song ever since I heard it on one of his live performances. "Good Place" is a good pop-rock song that you don't wanna listen if you are having some relationship problems. "Complain" might be a forgetful song but when you listen to it, it will calm you down. The last track, "My Kind of Perfect", he describes his perfect girl and he will not stop to search her. This album should have been one of this year's successful album. If it wasn't for Jive ****ing up his era, he can still be remembered by millions of people worldwide. Oh well, I would rather have a perfect music to jam to instead of seeing my fave with a successful but not-so-good. Bye haters.
You'll love this if: you love his music
Special Highlights:ALL! I can't ****ing decide *puts an Asian crying GIF*
Freakin Sweet 30 Movies of 2010 (21-19)
Want some mystery movies & thrillers?
| 21. Buried
Starring: Ryan Reynolds
Director(s): Rodrigo Corted
Writer: Chris Sparling
Rottentomatoes: 86%
IMDb: 7.6/10
If these award giving body organizations is missing something, it is Buried. Starring Ryan Reynold in his best performance yet, as an American driver who got attacked by an Iraqi group then he is buried alive with only cellphone and lighter to use to get some help. This movie will make you sit at the edge of your seat and grab popcorn with intense. It will not make your eyes to not concentrate on the movie. It's just way to intensive and the ending is just what you not wanted to happen. I really wanna spoil the ending because it's freaking magnificent but I don't wanna kill the thrill. Watch, watch, watch this movie if you are tired of some flicks that will just make you slouch. |
| 20. The Town
Starring: Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, John Hamm
Director(s): Ben Affleck
Writer(s): Ben Affleck, Peter Craig
Rottentomatoes: 94%
IMDb: 7.8/10
You may thought that Ben Affleck is the worst thing in the film industry especially that flop stale Gigli but his direction in this movie tells you that he is a late bloomer. This crime-thriller movie is about a gang who always robs and their laters plan is to hostage a bank manager but things go not they are planning. Well, maybe Ben is not really that Best Actor effort that you want to see but seeing his frien Jem (Jeremy Renner)'s performance can be called the star of the film. And what's the other highlight of the film? It's unpredictable |
| 19. Winter's Bone
Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, John Hawkes, Garret Dillahunt
Director(s): Debra Granik
Writer(s): Debra Granik, Anne Rosellini
Rottentomatoes: 94%
IMDb: 7.5/10
When I first saw the trailer, I have exactly no interest on watching this because it looks like boring but I was bugged by Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar buzz so I finally decided to watch and I tell you, the trailer gave the movie no justice at all. All I can say is with the clever script and a groundbreaking performance from newcomer Lawrence, you will love this film. The film is about a mountain girl trying to find his dangerous father to keep the family intact. It's really good drama-suspense flick. All the nominations and the awards that this film is getting is deserving. Why in a low place? I just watched it yesterday. If I watched it earlier, I would've put it on the top 10

Both albums. And now, I can tell you that TOSOD is better than his debut album. TOSOD is way too epic. Complain isn't forgettable. It's one of the best tracks there. Very insipirational.

Well,... yeah. As much as I love the song, if I weren't a fan of David, I would've forgotten it.
