I hope not, but I have to agree. The song is amazing, but it's annoying when you hear it on the radio. And having heard this all Christmas long on the radio when it was a single over here was kinda annoying haha.

To keep it from underperforming, Columbia and Adele will have to promote the hell out of it - something they didn't really do for SFTTR, even though it managed to go #1 on the Hot 100, pop radio and adult pop radio. "Rumour Has It," whether it will see huge success or not, is the obvious choice. You can't ignore a song that has sold 800k.

not sure yet. they haven't posted Mediabase 51-200 in a while, so there's no telling where it is on pop at the moment

I have no doubts about this going #1. It's the sister song of RITD, same vibe, extremely catchy, screams easy Rhythmic play. The sales issue is the same as SFTTR dealt with and that got 2 weeks at #1 with absolute zero promotion. This could possibly be able to do the same thing but just to be safe she should probably at least perform it once at any of the big venues available right now when the airplay gets high enough. This is the last 100% safe #1 IMO, though.
