I love Tinashe, but I'm glad this is flopping. She and her team needed a good wake up call for releasing such a weak single. I'm hoping we get a real hit within the next 3 weeks

You can't claim love and then be happy she's flopping. Like I hated Chasing The Sun but I was still upset it flopped.

Anyway, I think this song will divide her true fans from the rest. It's reminiscent of her mixtapes but still has a hint of commercial. This is more her type(though she hates to be,boxed) of music than 2 On (which was brilliant regardless). Give it time, let it pick up on radio. It might surprise you & grow on you too.

She's too new for tough love though. RCA won't hesitate to drop her if she doesn't do well. And also just because YOU don't like it, doesn't make it a bad song or it flop worthy. I hated Happy & Fancy & didn't think they were #1 worthy, but (un)fortunately I was wrong. So just support her, let her flourish my guy.

I really like the song but I honestly don't see it being the smash hit she needs. The chorus is too bare/stripped down for radio. It's a very minimalistic song and I feel like the chorus needs an extra oomph to it for it to actually get played on radio. They should make another mix for radio.

Swift promotion is clearly needed where this song is concerned. Just having it out there wont get it played/ downloaded.
The lyric video at least needs to be dropped fast and some radio adds or this will definitely flop. As much as the songs growing on me its a song that needs to be pushed if its going to do any sort of damage on the charts.

I don't even think its just the fact its minimalistic..."2On" was minimalistic too. But "Pretend" is just so far off the radar from her only hit single, has me a bit worried.

OK beat + OK melody + not geared towards "2On" audience = disaster second single....IMO.

But I guess we'll see...
