The judges will rank them and confirm them. It is a mutual effort. We'll accept applicants until 11:59 PM PST. That way, you guys should have plenty of time. We can bump up the announcement to Sunday afternoon, as long as all the judges have had time to listen to the auditions.

I think it would be fine to announce on Monday who advances and whose time is up.
Get your auditions in, people! There's already some stiff competition, but the winner of the competition may still be out there...
How are we going to try to make sure that voters have listened to all finalists? Like, how are we going to prevent them from just voting for their favorite members.

Hopefully people will have enough sense to listen to everyone before voting. But really, on any of these types of "shows" you can't force someone to listen to everyone and if they like one person more than any others they will vote for that person.
I think if the judges' votes count for 50% and ATRL voters count for 50% that would be fair and hopefully would result in stuff like that not happening.

25% Judges 75% Voters sounds like a safer ratio, but I like that idea.
1 person will get voted off every round. In some cases, 2 people can be voted off to reduce the amount of time vested in this contest. I think the competition will be one that slowly grows.
As GRADUAT10N mentioned, we cannot force everyone to sit and listen to each competition...unless our video editor wants to splice all the performances together and actually create a video. But he is pressed for time and we can't expect that.
What I would like to see if an interactive post that we do each round that has us post a performance and give viewers a couple minutes to watch the performers. The judges give their feedback and then send me their scores. Then the host entertains. On results day, it will be quick, the judges will agree on the "celebrity" performances and we will go through the results with the bottom 3 being revealed. The eliminated contestant will be given a chance to have a breakdown and then the judge's will have 1 save until the final 4. 25% is fair for the judges. That should be enough of a value to keep things interesting. 50/50 can end up with some issues. Voting will last for a day as I think that is the minimum amount of time the poll will allow you to use here.
People like LEM are already trying to work in those votes right now. Since no one has actually be selected, it drums up interest in them, but I have only heard back the opinion of 1 judge on the finalists, so nothing is set in stone at this point with the top acts.
It is really anyone's to win at this point. I hope we get a few more acts to apply as well. That way, we can give people a run for their money. Those who make it past the auditions this week will have to work hard. I love surprises and to go against the grain for the shocker.
