Back to the tradition of Rock types being the first Gym leader. Shocking, truly. Roark takes inspiration from coal miners and has a small part in the Underground portion of this game. His team is basic, and I mean BASIC in the way it's basically Brock's team plus the fossil Pokemon. The lack of creativity was clear here.
Awkwardly, Roark wasn't even the first pick to be the gym leader of Oreburgh City, Riley, the Lucario fursona, was. So I bet that stings since his own father didn't even wanna choose him, but we'll get to him on a later date. Design wise, he's nothing to fawn over. If you like men in uniform sure. He doe give "I'll spit on you" teas though if you turn his knobs right though.
