Yes but they don't sing do they? And if so you'll need to provide a receipt.

Nope, but let's just not act like it's a vocal delivery that contrasts that of Get Me Bodied.

You're just looking for ways to criticize, which is why your argument is so weak. It's like claiming Frank Sinatra is a one-dimensional artist because he mostly croons softly.

That wasn't my reason for thinking that she's one dimensional.
I was just commenting on that one thought.
Frank Sinatra, as far as I know, didn't venture far outside of that style... so, yes, he would be one-dimensional. That's the kind of artist that he was. He wasn't incredibly innovative or experimental with his music. It doesn't make him bad, it just makes him one-dimensional.

I, originally, wasn't talking about the lyrics, but the vocal delivery of the two songs and how they are, virtually, the same singing about two different topics. So, you're right.

I see your point now.
By this reasoning though most artists are one-dimensional. Unless they completely change their singing style to add a new dimension. Simply singing over a beat that's new to you then would not suffice in adding dimension.

No, not at all. Beyonce is a terrible artist really. She hasn't tapped into her potential as an artist at all imo. She works at every other part of her craft diligently it seems (vocals, dancing, performing, branding) except for that.
She is a great performer though. One of the best of her time.

i don't see anything similar from her vocal delivery in those two songs. RTA's vocals are fuming and her voice tastes like some jalapeno while in GMB her voice are just like having fun like i'm tasting some sugar coated chocalates. If you think she shouts on both songs, let's say she's shouting on RTA because she was mad and she was shouting on GMB because she was ecstatic and having fun. Try shouting or hear someone shout when mad and when just ecstatic/happy, do they sound alike?

It's not totally about singing style. It is about production as well. Take Prince, who I would consider the greatest artist of all time. He has composed & produced everything from disco, funk, pop, rock, jazz, r&b, hip-hop, psychedelic, techno, classical, soul, new wave, blues and folk. I'm not talking about watered down versions of those genres either, it's genuine music that's true to the respective genre.
He has changed his singing style to compliment the genre of music that he himself has produced. Beyoncé has not done a quarter of what Prince has done. She is one-dimensional, he is not.

I think Britney is more complete. She might not have the best voice but she has that charm, that good dancing, that beauty and all the controversy.

i just noticed in the title:
"MOST COMPLETE"?
i think it's redundant
when you're complete aren't you already like perfect?

It is true. Prince is multi-dimenisonal but there are very few like Prince out there. In his case his dimensions come from the fact that he has composed them himself. For most (pop stars) though, the production comes and they add their voice to it. Beyonce has not done a quarter of what Prince has, but she also has less than a quarter of the number of albums that he has, but she is still able to give a wide range of vocal styles.

That's exactly right, and it's the standard that truly tells if an artist is the "most complete" or not. There will, most likely, not be another Prince because of his extraordinary talent, skill and artistic vision. I can easily see there being another Beyoncé and even some who surpass her. They're already out there now.
Very true. The production comes to Beyoncé and she puts her voice in it. There are artists out there who experiment with a lot of genres that they themselves produce and then put their vocals on top of it.
I don't doubt that Beyoncé can do different vocal styles, but that alone does not make her multi-dimensional.

Some tracks come to Beyonce, but keep in mind she co-produced every track on 4.
Also I think it's going to be quite hard to find another Beyonce. They tried and we got some good ones out of it, but none compare to her in regards to performance.

1. Beauty is relative
2. Complete means: Singing, dancing, songwriting, playing instruments, controversy, charisma, originality, activism, artist vision, style and other things.
3. No but she is a great entertainer.

Controversy has no place in artistry. Controversy is employed when most of the other things are lacking, or when you just need to get noticed.

Spare me with 'she can't write songs' mess. She wrote Survivor and Bootylicious, two of the most iconic songs of her career, all by herself. and she's written many other songs as well.
