this mess already Just decide on ONE single and send it to all formats. Beyoncé's biggest hits have always been multi-format, this 'send one here, send another there' strategy is so dumb. It worked ONCE with IIWAB and SL and even then SL ended up obliterating the other on pop too. Idk why they always insist on releasing more than one song simultaneously
Well it might work this time. Sorry and Hold Up are both selling really well right now..
I'm more concerned with the WW single tho. She needs to pick one SOON. I know Sorry won't do anything outside of the US but at least make a decision and stick by it.
I just don't understand how a team can be so amateurish. Is Columbia really that powerless behind her? It's hard to think they are the same team behind Adele and Calvin Harris like. Are you going to wait for Hold Up to stop charting before you make it a single WW? Sorry and Hold Up are doing great in USA, what's the point of urban radio only?

Well unlike those two artists you mentioned, Beyoncé doesn't really give them time to come up with a plan. Most of the staff hears the album for the first time at the same time that we do.

Bey caters to urban radio too. Adele and Calvin don't. Unless she serves a straight pop bomb, her pop radio releases will remain messy.
Like I said previously in this thread, they probably just pushed the adds date back so it could have room to grow on Rhythmic and Urban, thus convincing them to play it like the recent Urban smashes (Oui, Might Not, Say It, etc.).

I agree with you. POP radio did not support "Drunk in Love" until it was smashing on Urban and Rhythmic radio. We can't expect POP radio to hop on a Beyonce song automatically. It's been years since they have been receptive to her singles. Allowing it to gain steam on the other formats is the best bet for this single. Her team should also get the video on VEVO and the song on Spotify asap.

That was because she sent XO to pop radio first.
If she sent Drunk In Love to all formats at the same time it would've charted on pop earlier.
Like Needed Me will be a pop radio hit in the end (as it will probably be the 3rd pop single) but pop stations aren't playing it much yet because they're playing Kiss It Better instead.

Do you think "Drunk in Love" would have performed well on POP if it were sent first? As soon as the song started to lose audience on urban and rhythmic, POP dropped it and it was out of the top 50 within a few weeks

That's the most frustrating thing. They should be striking while the iron is hot but instead they just seem to be lingering
