Wow. The guy had been through so much. Seriously?? **** his parents!!! ****ing **** making him miserable. What he's been through was ****ing sick! I can't believe that he was molested like that. This is just so sad. I never comment on these threads but this one is really bad. My prayers go to you and I know you're in a better place now.
PS. Those irresponsible parents should be jailed their whole life. **** them.

Are you comparing those to people that don't think Lady Gaga helps?

Is it a bad thing to want to fight homophobia? No, gays are the most ostracized group and are even denied some basic human rights. But, as awful as it may sound, that doesn't really affect me.

If it was immigrants, would you care again?

What Gaga would be ashamed of are the fans who want her to act "less extreme" and blame her for gay suicides. She would not be ashamed of those of us who are saying she's doing good work...

anyone who says lady gaga should "give up" on promoting the acceptance of gays. i'm sorry you're so blind, i'm sorry you're still ashamed, i'm sorry you feel left out of this movement, i'm sorry you still live your life trying to appease others. i'm sorry that you still feel unworthy of being loved and accepted by all. I'M SORRY THAT YOU'RE NOT AS FREE AS I AM.
look around you, the world is finally waking up and realizing that we ARE real people, and a lot of it is because of LADY GAGA. to say that what she's doing is detrimental to the gay community is ridiculous. the problem is not her. the problem is people like you still trying to hide from yourself, still trying to pretend that you're not a part of the gay community, still trying to reject acting "gay."
that is your problem. that is your hinderance. that is your misfortune... and no one elses. ok, i'm done.
FREEDOM. LOVE. REVOLUTION.

Tbh I think straight people will only start opening their eyes when people that are influential in the things they like start speaking about it and show they support to the gay community (footballl players, basketball players etc etc) not a female popstar lol

I understand what you're trying to say, but just because only one group listens to her doesn't mean she isn't changing anything. Take Martin Luther King, for example; only liberals listened to him then, and yet he brought the issue to a national setting. The important thing is bringing the issue into the national dialogue by sharing the message and creating displays, not to cower in the corner and allow any groups to be oppressed just because others have different opinions.
Pop music and pop stars may not be the "straightest" thing in the world, but I think you're underestimating their influence a lot.

I just want to point out though, that, this guy's It Gets Better video really wasn't affective. I felt like his video just seemed too forced and scripted. I could tell he had emotion but if he really wanted to reach out to other gay teens, he shouldn't have been as still as he was with his posture. I also think that, if he had just naturally opened up and just didn't appear as though this was a scripted video, his video might have affected more people.
The It Gets Better videos need to show TRUTH and REALITY and EricJames's video just didn't show that.
But, he deserved to rest in peace, but I wish he had gotten enough backbone not to cave in on himself.

Well I'm tired as **** and off to bed. Have fun attacking strawmen, don't get to dizzy from the vicious circular reasoning.

Thank you for not providing any solutions of your own, like I asked you too, just putting down others willing to offer them. You've been a valued member of this discussion.

I honestly don't see Gaga as the cause of all the recent bullying & suicide. All she's doing is supporting those who feel insecure or whatever issues they are having in their lives. She trying to make those people stronger and stand up for them selves. But for some reason those people aren't listening, or are not seeing past their problems unfortunately. It's like they think they only have one way out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: You'll never see a headline that says
Bullied Gay Teen Decides Not To Commit Suicide, Decides He's Better Than That;
He Listens to 'Born This Way' Often
Those people are out there, trust me. I guarantee it
