I sincerely hope ARTPOP reflects this statement, because as much as I love her, none of her albums so far do (with the sole exception of releasing the title track of BTW as the lead single). She's hyping up this album like BTW all over again, and it's not a good sign.
Plus, I think the problem in general is that record labels are afraid to let artists get their hands dirty. Gaga herself should know this.
What does she even mean? That her new songs are more explicitly sexual? How is a song's dirtiness related to how boring it is? Makes no sense. Or does she mean by afraid to get their hands dirty that they are afraid to innovate? Only god knows.
Her hands dirty comment had nothing to do with artpop, just a statement towards music in general today.
Once again, girls are pressed over nothing. God forbid Gaga hype her own album. Maybe if more popstars actually had say in the creation of their music, more would hype like Gaga.
And if talking to fans backstage = hype then what will it be when she starts talking publicly?

Gaga thinks an awful lot that she's the only one of the major pop girls taking risks, but she's not. Her music is nothing outside of the box. Born This Way was not experimental.

We need more of these diaries and confessions from people who have gone backstage with her and talked with her. They seem to be providing some real information...and she wouldn't be telling them if she didn't want them to tell the rest of us. I think she's using them as a medium to relay info to us...

She sounds like she's starting to talk out of her ass again, and I hated when she did that Pre-BTW. I don't care how much its against the grain or how its going to do this or that. She needs to let the people judge for themselves.
I just want her to release something good, and fresh and amazing like she did with The Fame/Monster.
