For one thing, Peaty Pablo was about as a useful feature to Ciara as Cobly O Donis was to Lady GaGa and another thing is, Ciara is a totally differfrent story because Ciara was just IT she has way more talent than Keri and she was IT. By the time "1,2 Step" was at it's peak, the girl had already stappled herself not only to Urban but to Pop as well, because she made such an IMPACT. Keri has not really achieved either and the reason for that is, she doesn't have that IT factor. She comes off very contrived at times and she had to start off her career by dissing other artist. Her success is not surrounded around HERSELF, it's about everything else but her.
This is why I hate when people compare her to Ciara at all because I just don't think she's worthy at all. Sorry Keri stans, I guess... Keri & Ciara wouldn't even be being compared had it not been for that whole diss mess anyway.
But I still don't like her ass either way. That's what gets these fights started because some people can't handle that.

We can compare Ciara and Keri if they started their career the same year. ^_^

Petey Pablo was a little bit more successful since he got a gold album a few months before Goodies came out and he had a top 10 hit on the Hot 100.
I just wanted to point out that Ciara had done collaborations as well. I'm not saying that one is better than the other.

Oh god... WHATEVER... you're not making any kind of point. Just let it go. You've wasted my time enough, thanks.

Tierra, you can drop the attitude at any point.
My point was that Ciara didn't start her career off on her own; she had collaborations that she had done. Personally, I love the girl to death. I was jamming to her album for almost a year.
Not to mention though, she has yet to have a top ten on the Hot 100 by herself ...

Those collaborations did not start her career. CIARA started her career. You're a little off though I guess.

I just don't understand the moderation here on ATRL. This topic was obviously just posted to create fights and pointless discussions and the staff will just leave it opened.

Her first few singles were collaborations ...
Her first solo song was "And I" ... her fourth single.

Also, what's amazing is what nobody has really theorized before. Let's look at when Ciara became successful on pop radio - 2004-2005, right? Now, WHO was not on the market as a SOLO act then? A generous woman who was just helping a friend and an illegitimate sister eat by "reuniting" with them. When said woman (I'm talking about Beyonce, here, for all the idiots that didn't get it) came back on the scene, pop radio was so DESPERATE for some of her "magic" that they turned CHECK ON IT into a huge smash. And, thus the better dancing- but watered down diluted xerox was cast aside, and pop radio (and the general mainstream) hasn't really had any use for her since.

Tierra, stop lying to yourself. You're delusional.
Actually, please continue. It's amusing.

How is anything I said delusional? EVERYTHING I said is true. I don't think you know what the hell delusional is cause you have that cover in your avie convincing yourself that's it's cute when its' not.

Remember....we're going for the whole 'let's make ATRL more interesting' thing? I don't think the thread needs to be closed. Sure, it's resulted in some obvious artist bashing, but some of the discussions have been somewhat interesting.
Brandon, you made some good points about Ciara having featured artists on his first few singles, but there is a difference. Ciara came with FIRE and attacked the charts (along with her 'guest artists'. She was marketed by some C-List producer (Jazze Pha) and made a impact on the charts (guest artists and all).
Keri is DIFFERENT. Keri isn't that interesting when she stands alone. IAPW suffered numerous push backs because of lack of interest. Even that Timbaland collaboration "The Way I Are" didn't generate interest in her. She was marketed as the 'behind the scenes writer now singer' and no one really gave a damn. "Happy Juice"? flop. "Where Did He Go"? Never took off. "Energy"? stalled. Keri's collabo's are more important because she's had to work with 'more popular artists to generate interest in her songs. "Knock Yo Down" would NOT be sitting at #3 with Petey Pablo as the feature artist.

I was only trying to point out that Ciara had collaborations rather than solo songs for her first few singles ... with some mainstream artists at that time like Petey Pablo, Missy Elliott, and Ludacris. I only said this because everyone was trying to act like Keri couldn't do it on her own ... which she still needs to prove, but Ciara didn't just do those first few singles by herself.
Well of course Petey Pablo wouldn't help Keri nowadays because he hasn't done anything relevant to the music industry since 2004 ...
Don't get me wrong though ... I love both of them and they both bring something different to the table.

That doesn't even make sense. Ciara just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Beyonce wasn't on the scene, and the crunk movement needed some girl - ANY GIRL - to front it for a few tracks. at Ciara having "it" - that's almost as funny as saying Jordin Sparks was responsible for No Air's success.

So, you're saying because she was Urban and successful at Pop radio it's because Beyonce wasn't around? That's DEFIANTLY not true. Especially when Beyonce came back to Pop radio, her success there was no better than Ciara's out-side of "Irreplaceable" because they both went Urban. Not saying they are on the same level, I'm just saying Ciara was not a Beyonce replacement for damn sure.

Oh, no, Pop Radio then wouldn't accept any old Beyonce mess (although, now? They kinda would), but Irreplaceble - a strong, poppy song - was bigger than anything the other one's ever done. (and the other one had Promise, her second best single - that wasn't touched by pop or internationally with a ten foot pole!) And why was that? BECAUSE BEYONCE WAS BACK WITH A STUNNER OF A SINGLE.
In 2008-2009, though, Beyonce can release any old garbage to Pop and have a smash. The other one can't - precisely because she's not "IT."

This was hella funny now that I re read this. And some people's comebacks still failed Please Ciara had features but it was no denying those were smash hits hence Goodies getting play without Petey's verse lol while Keri is just known for her chorus on KYD,

I'm pretty sure that Goodies was played with Petey Pablo's verses in it because I remember it getting played and I would sing/dance to it, so I know that it was. Maybe not where you were, but it was around here.
