"Say It Right" deserves this years top spot, it's only descending slowly because there's just something about it that never gets old. I don't like "The Sweet Escape" but I think it's a good song...all of the recognition for that should go to Akon though. Gwen could never pull off a song that good by herself. It should definitely rank among the years top 5 songs.

what are you talking about?
if you search in wikipedia for the two songs, you will see the difference:
SIR was number 1 in 21 countries while TSE was #1 only in 7.

The Sweet Escape stayed at #1 in the WW chart for over 2 months, it also reached #2 in the UK and the U.S and despite not reaching #1 in those countries, it has had better staying power...

really? then how comes, that TSE in nowhere in the charts now, while SIR is still in the top 20 and in some countries top 5!
It's been on the united world chart for more than 24 weeks, and has had more than 200K every week since then. And the sweet escape started slowly then rise, and now is losing against SIR quickly. If TSE were on the charts then it wouldn't lose points so quickly...
